| I came to England at three months old, having been born to a German mother and Turkish father. We've moved up and down the country a few times, finally settling down in the South. I got my BA and MA in English Lit at the University of Warwick, where I'm currently struggling my way through a part-time PhD in yet more poetry. |

| My main interest outside of academic work is martial arts, specifically Brazilian jiu jitsu. I've been training at the Roger Gracie Academy in London, UK since November 2006: my blog covers it since the first time I walked through the doors. Obsessive, but writing stuff down definitely helps with training. ;) |
