Read A Bit About Lanctot's Loveables Teddy Bears
Welcome to my hug. Teddy Bears have
always been a part of my life. Every
since I was a little kid those special
little faces have caught my eye. It
seemed there was never enough room
for me in bed because my Teddies and
animals had to be comfortable too!
When I hit my teens the collecting
really tapered off. In 1996 my husband
got me started again. For Christmas
that year he bought me a book about
collecting Teddy Bears and that's when
I saw my first Artist bears. He
encouraged me to try making my own
so I started with some white felt and a
pattern in my mind. What evolved was
a very homely little 6" bear named
Baby. With Baby I realized that I
needed help so I was off to the fabric
store. I bought a pattern and all the
supplies to make a 12" bear. He was
somewhat better but I still wasn't
happy. I had a little better idea of what
to do so I made another attempt at
designing. This bear had a special little
face that said "You did it!" Since
January 1997 I have designed all of my
own patterns and I learn something
new every time I make another bear. I
hope you can find that special face on
one of my bears as they are all so eager
to travel and make new friends. Come
