The name "Jake " was given to me in Navy boot camp. Overseas I had a senior mail clerk who was always trying to create rhymes. One day, I, toting a root beer in one hand and a mailbag in the other, entered the mail room to "Here's 'Jake the Snake' with the mail."

My return to civilian life found me driving big rigs, known as "Jake the Snake" across the CB air waves, and still enjoying my favorite beverage - root beer. Truck drivers love country western music, and it wasn't long after the release of a Tom T. Hall song when I was christened "Sneeky Snake" by the other drivers. The song told of a snake who slithered around stealing everyone's root beer!

My Naval service, 1954 - 1957, was mostly aboard the USS Valley Forge and in Port Lyautey, French Morocco. Until about 1980, I lived in New Hampshire where we also ran a small family farm and produce business to supplement my trucker's income. A back injury in the mid-70's found me laid up for several years and ultimately a change in careers.

Upon my return to Cape Cod, I met my second wife, CCmouse, aka MomJ, to whom I have been happily married for over 24 years. We are the parents of a melded family of 4 boys and 2 girls, ranging in ages from 49 to 27, and grandparents of 6, ages 21 to 2.

With my forced medical retirement in 1998, I re-activated my childhood hobby of stamp collecting. Not that it has laid dormant all these years, quite the contrary - my wife also collects! Throughout the years we both have drifted in and out of it as life's other distractions permitted. Having then learned to use the computer and the internet, I found e-Bay trading has added yet another dimension.

With all our interests, and years of collecting "stuff" you never know what we might put up for sale on eBay. We strive to accurately describe and show all items. If you find something we missed, please let us know. We want to make it right. Nothing pleases us more than satisfied customers.
