I am a Spinner.
Since learning to spin and weave back in 1998, I decided I wanted to share some of the yarns I spin. So, I started spinning yarn to sell, weave and knit with! I have so much fun!
Some of the wool I have spun are: Majestic Sky Merino/Tussah Silk, Colonial Wedgewood, Begonia Merino, White Blue/Face Leicester, Confettie Corriedale, Dark Coopworth, White Merino, Brown Select Jacob, Light gray Coopworth, White Merino/Silk, and Turquoise Merino.
All of my handspun yarn has been profressionally dyed, but has been spun by me. I do occasionally dye my own wool, not very often though.
I call my handspun yarn Spinning Ginny's Handspun Yarns, this is a play on my name since I love to spin and my great-aunt used to call me Ginny. Therefore the name Spinning Ginny's!
I hope that you all find my love for spinning wool into yarn interesting and will come to enjoy knitting, weaving or crocheting with Spinning Ginny's Yarns!
I am also a Weaver, Knitter and Quilter.
I taught myself to knit when I was 8 years old. Over the years I expanded on my knitting into knitting lace shawls and socks. I learned how to weave around that time too when my mom and dad bought me a plastic weaving loom. It was years later though when my husband bought me a 20 inch table top loom that my love for weaving really came into effect. I learned how to quilt when we lived overseas in Indonesia and occasionally I get some extra time to set down and work on that as well.
I hope that you will enjoy visting my store and find items of interest for yourself or for someone else.
