Why I don't ship International.

I've been a member of eBay since 1999 and while I still firmly believe that most people, including most people on eBay, are honest, I do have experience dealing with creeps.

Creeps are people who lie, cheat and steal.  Having no proof of delivery on a package I've shipped seems to bring out the "creep" in poeple.

I work a full time job, commute in the San Francisco Bay Area, work on my website AND post auctions on eBay.  What I don't do is go to the post office.  I print all of my postage online and either drop my packages in a mailbox or take them to my office and a very nice mail carrier takes them with her.

This is only an issue with International shipping.  There are basically two options for printing International postage labels on USPS.com.  The expensive method (that provides a tracking number), or the cheap method (that does not provide a tracking number).

I have tried in the past to use the cheap method but after having several International packages "lost" due to no tracking number and therefore no proof of delivery, I have decided I will only ship domestic.

Someday I may become busy enough with my website and/or eBay, leave my day job, and then have time to stand in line at the post office.  At that time I will be able to use the cheap method of shipping International and get tracking information.

Then I won't have to tell my potential International bidders

that their underwear will cost $25 to ship.
