Selling on eBay is a new venture for me, and I am looking forward to meeting new friends and selling lots of stuff. I have done my homework on how to sell on eBay, and I will follow all of the guidelines and hopefully gain many happy customers. I just finished reading Jayne Perry's I Married an eBay Maniac, which was fun and informative, and I have implemented many of her suggestions into my auctions.

I have a room complete with shelving, dedicated to my eBay items, and have set up a space for wrapping and shipping. I am listing some general items at first, but I am working to open a store.

I have collections that include: antique dolls and doll clothes, Hummel's, china and pottery, antique tools, records, porcelain mice (Enesco, etc.), Avon bottles and decanters (cologne and perfume), books—old and new.

This is a new venture for me, and when I tried to list my first item, I found I had much to learn. Please be patient with me and send an e-mail to say "Hi!" or to offer your suggestions on how I can improve my eBay selling.

I have worked as an editor and photographer for the past 17 years for FedEx Freight before retiring in September 2007. My husband, Darrell Wiskur, and I have lived in the Arkansas Ozarks for over 30 years. We have six grown and married children and 16 grandchildren. Darrell is an author, illustrator, and designer, holding several patents. I have created a website with some of his art at www.wiskurproductions.com. I plan to complete that site and showcase all of his books and games in 2008.

Also, I will be working on my eBay store and a new website that will include trivia on our antiques and collectibles.

PAYMENT

• Checks & money orders accepted (U.S. currency), but anticipate a 10-day hold, which is often necessary to confirm the successful transfer of funds.

• *Payments by PayPal are welcome. Note, however, I may need to refund your PayPal payment if you have weak feedback AND an unconfirmed mailing address as well.

• Unless there is an error or an omission on my part, I do not think it is fair to other bidders to end an auction early.

• *Using PayPal enables you to pay for your eBay purchase with a credit card. You have the added option to join PayPal, but it is not necessary to do so to pay for your purchase.

SHIPPING & INTERNATIONAL BIDDING

• I frequently ship within 24-48 hours of receiving completed payment! Shipping and handling is FREE for U.S. shipments, and an average costs for that is added into the starting bid.

• I combine shipping on items that do not include FREE shipping. In those cases, you can save money on postage when you win more than one item if you notify me before I ship the first item.

• International Bidders: I am not able to mark customs forms as "gift" for this or any other sale, and I must write an accurate declaration of value.

FREE SHIPPING & HANDLING ON U.S. SHIPMENTS

I will take particular care in wrapping your package, using boxing, packing peanuts, and bubble wrap as needed. In most cases, my starting bid includes FREE shipping. Into that initial bid I have added an average shipping costs and expenses for the costs of packaging. My "FREE SHIPPING" includes insurance and a tracking number. In most cases, I will be shipping via FedEx.

I process shipments online at FedEx.com, and will need your phone number for the delivery information form, which is standard information. I am located in the central U.S. states, which enables me to project a good average cost for shipping, based on weight and size of the item.

For packing, I will be using a combination of new and used boxes and will only choose materials that expedite shipping and guarantee safe delivery.

For items not shipped via FedEx, I will average $1 into the shipping and handling fee to ensure the item in transit. I will personally pay for the other half of the insurance to share in shipping protection, given the anticipated bumps and shakes the package may incur in transit.
