I am an avid plant lover for over 35 years and really enjoy growing new things. I love my plants and spend much time caring for them as does my husband. We live in Lake Charles Louisiana where the climate is subtropical, which means its warm and humid most of the year. We do occasionally get frost but very seldom get below freezing, except on rare occasions, and then it's only for a few days time. Just about anything will grow here, and that is why I have such good success with my plants.
My offerings are mostly home grown and well cared for. Some of the plants I list are from friends, neighbors and relatives and I have connections with local nurserys where I get some very nice items. I grow all my plants as well as the plants shipped in peat pots in the best potting soil available, Miracle Grow, which contains fertilizers to help your plants grow larger and faster. You will always get quality, full size plants, no seedlings unless stated as such.
I have collected many different varieties from all parts of the world, exotic, common and very rare plants not available in nurserys. I am not a nursery so I have no overhead, no employees and lots of time on my hands to care for them. I can guarantee delivery because I use delivery comfirmation at no cost to you. If your plants do not arrive in a timely fashion, just email me and I will supply you with a confirmation number and the online post office address to check for yourself. Also I ship as soon as a payment clears. Once payment clears, your plants or bulbs are prepared and packed, labeled and shipped the very next day unless it is too close to the end of the week, then I will wait till the following Monday to pack and ship.
As for refunds, if you are not satisfied with your purchase because it arrived in poor shape due to shipping damage I can not be held responsible. If you overbid and are sorry later, I can only say read the auction as this is very important and I always try to be as specific as possible. It is very hard to give a guarantee on a living thing that could very easily be damaged during shipping, but I promise to always pack any items to keep them from coming loose in the package and damaging them by ratteling around. And sometimes the leaves may drop off due to shock or going dormant by arriving in a different climate than it's used to, but this will not hurt your plant. Plant it and give it a chance to recover before contacting me about selling you a 'stick' as one lady did. She didn't rush off to leave negative feedback, but took my suggestion to give it time. PLEASE I would never stick a cutting in a pot and call it a plant. Everything I sell will have very good root systems and will grow leaves again if they fall off or go dormant during shipping. If you every have a problem with your plant please email me and let me at least try to resolve it for you.
You don't sell as many plants as I have and not get a few negatives or neutrals. I can honestly say that I only deserved one of the negatives I received, and that was due to shipping the wrong plant to the wrong person, which I did make good on in the end. As for the others, some were from disgruntled people that should have been mad at themselves rather than take it out on me. I don't twist any arms to cause people to bid extravagant amounts or have bid wars with other bidders on my plants. I get excited when I see it happening but I can not control it. Some were from those 'Power Mongers' who felt it was their duty to ruin a perfect record. And finally there is the rookie ebayer. You will know them by the very low feedback they themselves have. They hurry off to leave negatives because they believe all sellers are out to scam them on the internet. They never bother to contact you with a problem but just hurry into the forum to let the world know they came across one of those Cons on ebay. Let me tell you this! My ebay reputation is far more important to me than a few bucks I would make conning a few people out of the thousands I have sold to.
In spite of those few negatives and neutrals I have received, I think my reputation has held up pretty good. I have many repeat buyers as you will note the difference in my posted feedback by my name as opposed to my actual total feedbacks received. Only problem now is that I do not give feedback until I receive it from the buyer. This way, I know that they are happy with what they receive and wont come back on me a month later stating "they were alive when sent but died within a week. Too young to be sold yet" This was an actual neutral I received a month after I shipped the plant. I would not leave you negative feedback if say, your email was down for two weeks and you could not contact me, or you had to leave home on an emergency, or your payment was way too late getting to me. I just don't think it's worth it. It's a shame I have had to resort to this practice, but I found that many of the sellers are now doing the same thing, holding off feedback until they are confident with the entire transaction. I think it is only fair, no seller wants to risk a bad reputation on a mistake. Most of us are honest people who will set right any wrongs we have actually done. Especially plant lovers, you just can't help being 'good people' if you love plants! So lets have fun. My email box is always open and I am always willing to talk or listen.
My specialty is tillandsia air plants and bromeliads and there is not much I do not know about these plants. I do list these plants in auction periodically as I acquire them. I have kept journals on how each grow and the different care and flowering of each. I do have a web page at www.tillandsiatreasures.com with a lot of helpful information. this is not a sale site, its only there to educate the beginner. Also I can be contacted a Taracp@netcommander.com if you have any questions about air plants.
