How it all began...
My journey into the needlecraft world began at the early age of 12, when I first taught myself to knit. Soon after, I was also sewing my own clothes and crocheting (also self-taught). Later, when my first two children were on the way, I made each of them a stamped cross stitch quilt from a kit. This became a tradition which I followed my third and fourth were born much later. In the meantime, I picked up a crewel embroidery kit or two and some needlepoint ornaments and I was hooked! I soon learned the art of stashing and dreamed of owning my own needlecraft store so that I could be surrounded by luxurious yarns, needles and embroidery threads to my heart’s content. Then, in 2003, I picked up my first counted cross stitch kit, a Dimensions Gold Collection Petite "Angel of Music," which I’ve since had framed and is currently on display in my living room.
Then, eBay happened. My husband had been doing a lot of searching for good deals on his newest favorite hobby, guitars. My sister-in-law, who is an avid yard saler, had been selling some of her finds on eBay. A friend of ours in Las Vegas was selling diamonds on eBay! Everyone said I should give it a try, since we had recently moved from California to Virginia (my husband works for Dept. of Homeland Security), and I was looking for something part-time to do from home, so that I would be more available for our children.
One day, I decided to look for a new cross stitch kit on eBay. To my surprise, I found many great deals and began stashing kits. I wondered where sellers were able to find kits to sell online at such good prices, so I contacted a few suppliers and soon after, my dream of owning a needlecraft store was fulfilled in a way I never anticipated!
