My name is Terry Fields. 

I am a photographer.  It's not my profession; it's an avocation - a love affair.  As a kid growing up in Chicago I used to cut school, grab my Brownie Hawkeye and head off to Lincoln Park, the zoo, the rookery, or Belmont Harbor.  That was fun; hearing the phone ring in the evening and knowing my teacher was on the other end, well, not so much…  

The truth is I enjoy photography too much to make it my job.  Job equals work.  Work equals tedium.  Where's the fun in that?  No, I earn a living managing computer networks in a college system.  A job of soul-sucking boredom when things work properly, interrupted by the occasional caffeine induced paranoia when they don't.
