Hi:) My name is Noviar. I'm a full-time system developer and programmer. I
started collecting and using Indonesian traditional knives since I was 11 years
old. That would be when I was still in elementary school. Back then, I often saw
them being sold at a traditional market near my house. I never know why, maybe
because I love practicing silat and reading silat stories and comics, I just
love them at the very first sight. I feel like a pendekar or a warrior myself
every time I hold them and when I can have one to add my knive collection.
In 2005, I met a rencong (Acehnese traditional knive) maker and helped his
business, which had been devastated by the greatest tsunami ever happened in
Indonesia, by buying his knives. Then, I restarted collecting any kind of
Indonesian knives and blades. And than I met a golok sulangkar maker in Banten.
In March 2007, I met a chief of blacksmiths in a remote area in
West Java. So far, he's the best one I've found during my quest
of finding good quality and beautiful knives. And just like the
other blacksmiths, he told me how his business got harder and
harder due to Indonesian economy. Wanting to help, I tried to
sell his crafts at ebay .
All the pieces that we sell here have been retouched by me, so that you
get fine pieces.
Thank you for looking and for your time :)
