When I was knee high to a grass hopper my father opened a store called The Laura (my sister) Lynn (you got it…me) Shop. It was a fun store. This was in the late sixties, early 70’s so I need not tell you how GROOVY everything was :o) There were cool purses, funky jewelry, retro sun glasses and cool-cat accessories. My sister and I would help put out the new stock for a few hours on the weekend. For doing that, I think we got a dime to go buy some shoe string red licorice. Since then, there have been many more ventures, but I will never forget the era of bell bottoms, crocheted vests and platform shoes. GIVE ME A PEACE SIGN…here’s your flower-POWER!
Dad passed away about three years ago so I can’t think of anything more appropriate than to carry on the “I am who I am, I’m just one of those people, I’m happy to live till I die” tradition. SING it LOUD! You know it- if you are stopping by my sight…you know it :o)
I’m 43 with a 6 year old, and 2 yr old. My daughter and I exercise with JOJO’s circus, dance to hip hop grooves and on a really good day…I can still do a cartwheel.
My life view is simple- embrace each moment- have a few hardy laughs each day and be proactively kind, that is it. My goals are simple- make at least one person smile each day. I find great wisdom and guidance in the world of Positive Psychology. Here are a few of my favorite quotes:
Dali Lama
People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. Just because they’re not on your road doesn’t mean they’ve gotten lost.
Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them
My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness
Mahatma Gandhi:
Be the change you want to see in the world
Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever
