You may see my various items offered at auction on ebay, but that is not my primary business. I produce large scale model trains in Standard Gauge and Gauge One under the name of ROBERTS' LINES. My model trains are constructed of durable metal; some are stamped sheet metal, and others are cast aluminum. I have been offering ROBERTS' LINES products to the model railroad enthusiast for 28 years.
My background is in Electrical Engineering, but I have always enjoyed tinkering with milling machines, lathes, etc. I especially enjoy building one-of-a-kind custom models for my customers.
I am Past-National President of the Toy Train Operating Society, and former Division President for the Northeastern Division of T.T.O.S. I have written numerous articles on toy and model trains for the Toy Train Operating Society, the Train Collectors Association, the American Flyer Collectors Club, Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman magazines. Most of my articles have dealt with the exciting, first-generation diesel-electric powered streamlined passenger trains of the mid-1930 era. My favorite streamliner has always been the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad "PIONEER" Zephyr. My father bought me an American Flyer "O" gauge model of this train in 1946. It has been the focus of my interest in toy and model trains since. In 1989 my brother and I produced a finescale model of the PIONEER Zephyr in Gauge One. Only 100 sets were made. These were made in metal, of course, with a nickel-plated finish.
I continue to collect toy and model replicas of the Zephyr, and other streamliners. Keep an eye out for my bids on them on ebay. I don't like to lose one if it strikes my fancy. But good luck to you anyway.
If there is anything you need or desire in the way of large scale model trains, or special parts to build your own, drop me a message. I have many, many specialized parts available you can't find anywhere else. My ROBERTS' LINES catalogue is available for $5.00.
I look forward to hearing from you.
