This is a sad time in my life right now. My mother has ended her life's journey after 80 wonderful years on Earth. Please pray for her safe journey into heaven. Back to previous page  Mary Kay Duran~ Fabric Artist Well at least it helps pay the bills. Hello everyone who may just stumble onto this page. Mary Kay is my name and astronomy is my game. OH sure I claim to be a fabric artist but I truly love astronomy and one day plan to traval across the United States in a Giant traveling planetarium. Don't worry though it may take awhile I have to sell loads of fabric first. Many of my finest pieces I have created since opening the doors to my virtual store on eBay have been inspired by many of the astronomical visions I see in my homemade telescope. I can't explain the wonderment and excitment I feel when looking though the eyepiece of my scope or showing someone the rings of Saturn for the first time or after I have worked for hours on a piece and I am in the final phase I call the reveal. This is where the beauty really lies. Being a fabric artist is much like being an amatuer astronomer there is still so much to learn and the more questions I ask, the more questions arise and the final results are unexplainable. I have recently started on a additional career. An actress. Yes I said actress. Recently there was an open casting call for a movie and I went and was asked to work as an extra...... With pay! Imagine that. So far since May I have been in 3 movies and currently waiting on a fourth. 1. I played an excited football fan in a period piece called "The Express" with Dennis Quaid. It is the story of the first african american Heisman trophy winner Ernie Davis.. Due for release in 2009. Great story and a tear jerker. 2. I played a sophisticated socialite at a 60th birthday bash for a rich guy in Barrington Illinois in a movie called "The Return" with Tim Robbins and Rachel McAddams. 3. I played the owner of a meat packing plant, eating lunch at a place called Uncle Bubs in the movie "Witless Protection" with Dan "Larry The Cable Guy" Whitney. This movie was the most fun of all and I actually have a photo with him and autograph. Dan was so funny he had the entire set in an uproar. This will go right to DVD at the beginning of the year. Make sure you check out Morning Constitution by Larry the Cable Guy. My next movie will be the new "Batman" movie they just started filming here.
