My name is Tracie. I live in New York. I've been sculpting for a year now. I first started this hobby after purchasing a one of a kind art doll from a sculptor on ebay. I immediately took interest in it and couldn't wait to try it myself. I bought all of the needed supplies and started right away. I spent ALOT of time on the head before I was able to move on to the body. I sure made a lot of alien heads!!! ~~LOL~~
I use prosculpt polymer clay & I create original one of a kind art dolls. Alot of time and TLC goes into the creation of each doll. This is a hobby that I have truly grown to love.
No molds are EVER used in the making of my dolls. Once I have created a doll, I bake it in a polymer clay oven for the specified time & temperature. Once the doll is baked and cooled, I paint them with oil paints to create realism. I apply clear gallery glass on the lips, nails & eyes to give them a "wet look."
Some of my dolls are bald and others have mohair that gets applied. Some of my dolls are "sleeping babies" and others will have eyes that are baked in.
