Let's see, how do we start......Well my nickname in high school was Tiny, and yes, that's because I was tiny. I started learning crafts long before I even remember when that was. My mom is a crafty person and she taught all of us that a homemade gift was more cherished than anything store bought. This is so true, she made my wedding gown and I still have it for the next many generations. She taught me how to knit, crochet, cross stitch and hand embroider. These are trades I am now trying to teach to my children; which I have 3.
Every year around Christmas time we would host a Homemade Craft Day and the kids would invite their friends. This gave parents a time to shop without having their child with them. It was fun because we would all tell what was our favorite holiday family tradition. And each year the kids would pick something new they wanted to learn to make. Some of the things we made were: candles, soap, Shrinky Dinks, wood crafts, and beaded jewelry. The kids had fun and I know the parents still have some of the homemade gifts (they tell me).
Now to Tiny Crafts...
With my son on the brink of high school and my girls off to college, this left me with even more time to devote to my crafting. More time, what to do now? Well I've been knitting and crocheting for too many years; and while I've made some awesome gifts, I wanted to learn something new. In comes.....Machine Embroidery. Once I got it, I was hooked. So now a new craft to make gifts with and have I. I've been stitchin out burp clothes, bibs, blankets, teddy bears, sweatshirts, tote bags, just about anything I get my hands on. The kids keep the dogs away from me for fear I may personalize them. Not yet...but I am looking at making each of them their own blanket to lay on instead of my furniture or car seat. LOL
With much coaxing, I decided to go "big time" and open my EBay Store, thus Tiny Crafts officially opened. Mind you, I've been selling my crafts to local friends and family for a long time now.
Every time my daughter opens a new gift (update: We just welcomed our first granddaughter the beginning of May 2008) I see the excitement in her and the absolute JOY whenever she receives something personalized just for her or Ryleigh. I hope that with every gift I create for you that the person receiving it will have that same feeling every time they look at that gift and remember it was YOU who thought to make it personal and extra special.
I hope you enjoy browsing my store and visit often as I am adding new designs and items all the time. Looking for something in particular? email and let me know, it just might be my next project.
