My Vehicular Art

WELCOME TO MY REALM

I create from what's been admired but forgotten. Everything old is new again in my shop since 1995.
WHAT'S LOU UP TO NOW?
Louzart is now featuring items that fall into the venues of: kitsch, Lolita, Goth, Punk, Emo, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, urban, DIY, not to mention steampunk. One should never get to old to relish the the latest concepts in wearable art, be it to wear or just enjoy looking at. I may be old, but I still don't look like my 4th grade teacher did at my age!
Thinking in those terms, how many times have we found a great piece of jewelry or odds and ends that needed to be reborn to their former glory? Well, I don't repair them but use them to form new collage jewelry items, purses, etc. that are for the lover of true artisan accessories.
If you appreciate bold, colorful and daring accessories that nobody else will hvae, then welcome to my world where I cross the boundaries of the ordinary for your enjoyment. There are even LOUZART collectors out there now. So, buy your beads from the mall. Buy your statement pieces here!
I began creating accessories in 1995 for the retail market and was encouraged to list on eBay and here I am! I started making items that were based on history and art work because it was one way to help my middle school classes appreciate different things they might not see or hear about anyother way. Jewelry worked!
I use a myriad of vintage and contemporary items. If I use acrylic stones, they're the best. If I use crystals they're most always vintage from West Germany, Austria or old Czechoslovakia. I love to dot the pieces with old Aurora Borealis and new Swarovski crystals. I use the best adhesives, closures, silver-leadfree-solder and connectors. My charm bracelets wed vintage and new and only silver-plated rings, head and eyepins are used. Golden items are generally just in tone and not plated. My newest creative venture is to incorporate scrapping and stamping in some of my pieces. I usually mix goldtone and silvertone on an item so you can wear it no matter what color of precious metal you own and wear.
When working with images, they are sealed for protection using laquers or glazes in either matte or gloss.
My work has been called artisan collage, assemblage, outsider art, wearable art and shabby chic-jewels. Even though they certainly aren't Tiffany items, they are all great fun to own and wear. Over the years, I've sold items right off of my body!

As of August 2007, my latest book can be found on line or in bookstores across the USA. The title of this compilation of original short stories by yours truly is, I Knew Me When. It reflects stories that I've carried in my mind since the late 60's and finally put on paper. In other words, I knew me when these stories were merely random thoughts.
As of August, 2007, my wearable art will start showing at the prestigious Mac Worthington Gallerie in the Short North art district of Columbus, OH. I'm truly proud to be associated with such a forward thinking group of artists and have had my items listed in the gallery catalogues.
If you're interested in what else I do, Google my name and you'll find my history and genealogy works. To read more about my creations complete with photos, try my web site louzart.net in your search.
It's always busy at LOUZART and even I don't know what I'll be doing next. I list new items each Friday evening at approximately 6:00 P.M. EST. Stop by!!
A gracious thank you goes to all of my tried and true return buyers. The following info WILL NOT affect you at all: Now that sellers can’t give negative feedback to buyers, regardless of how poorly the buyer preforms, be advised that for ALL unpaid items, after 3 days (72 hours) from the winning bid, a dispute will be filed by me against your user ID, no exceptions. Under the new rules, sellers have to suck it up and play nice to the deadbeat game players who make us file reports and waste time begging for payment. Soon there will be no way for me to know if I’m dealing with less than earnest buyers as I’ve had to withstand in the past. Further, this new rule has made me adjust bidding as follows: I WILL cancel/block buyers enrolled here for less than 30 days. I will cancel bids from buyers with less than 20 positive feedbacks. I no longer have time to create wearable art plus chase and beg for payment. It’s too simple for bidders to re-register under new user ID’s and play the game at will. I no longer have that kind of time and have had to readjust accordingly. If you think these terms unfair, go to any retail store or on-line catalogue, and ask them to wait for payment. (Added May of 2008)
A few words about postage: as my work is usually so dimensional, I WILL NOT ship in padded envelopes. There would be too much of a margin of error before it reaches the buyer.

MY ITEMS
*****ARE NOT*****
MASS PRODUCED
THEY ARE TRIBUTE ITEMS ONLY.
Unless you have a VERO "ME" page, other than the obvious, it’s impossible to know if a valid copyright goes with the image. But, if you have the original copyright documentation for this item, please contact me through true-lou at eBay, and the item will be removed ASAP and it won’t be re-listed.
Any images used are from scrap paper ephemera lots purchased all over the midwest or internet Angel Policy goods. Others come from CD's with the Angel Policy. After lots of time and money, my legal advisor has maintained that my little items pose no effect on the image's market and my items bear little or no similarity to the previous product markets. The images as used cause a change to the utility of the original. The caveat would probably not be needed due to the sources I use but I thought it important to add here.
The few images not from the above named sources come from the following where I've spent hours, so, in addition, see also: LC-USZ62 SERIES & SECTION 5A
