NEWS!! I'm going to be getting my fall clothing ready to sell, so after this listing you won't see many bikinis and playsuits. I'll be selling trousers, dresses, and skirts this fall with my usual vintage flair!I am simply a vintage enthusiast. I began sewing by hand without a machine when I was 17, making mostly 60's style dresses. As I got older I began to appreciate the sexy sillouhettes of the 40's and 50's. And learned how to use a sewing machine.
I began collecting vintage pattern in order to maintain the authentic feel. I do use modern fabrics but try to find fabric that is unique and easy to wear. I sometimes stray from the pattern to make something unique and will state if I've done so on my listings.
I am a collector of anything kitsh, pink flamingos, and springolators!
I sew anything from simple capris and trousers, to more advanced dresses and beach wear. I also knit and crochet and have a knack for making knitted dolls of famous people. If you have anyone in mind just drop me a line and I'll see what I can do.
As for the sewing I currently do not take custom orders, but it doesn't hurt to ask. If it's something I'm comfortable with making from a distance I'll go for it!
I base my prices on 2 things, 1) Cost of materials, and 2) Complexity of pattern. I'm not out to make a huge profit, but I would like to at least pay for the fabric. Unfortunatly my usual fabric lady is going out of business mid- September, so my prices may increase slightly due to increase cost of fabric.
There are only two things I ask: 1: that you use Paypal, that's all I take since a few poor sports decided not to send me cheques. That leads me to number 2: Please pay within 3 days. I do make exceptions, but only if you communicate and have a darn good reason such as it's four days til payday. After 1 week of no communication or payment I will file for an Unpaid Item Dispute, and leave a Naughty Strike. I hate to do it, but I've had good bidders that lost out because of the Poor Sports.
I do have a full time job and so sewng is my hobby. When an item is purchased I make every effort to post next day, but will take no longer than 4 working days. I list items about every two week, and usually in two's or three's. I am always looking for something different, whether it is a new fabric or a new pattern. If any of my customers have photos in my clothing, and are not shy, by all means send me them and I can post them on here!
