Welcome

Hi and welcome to my page. I'm Dan and I am located in Southwest Washington State, where I enjoy a variety of great activities in the outdoors, including fishing, hiking, camping, cross-country skiing (on rare occasions)and my most time consuming hobby of Paragliding.

Over the years I have collected a variety of things, many of which I find on the ebay auctions. Recently I have offered a few items from my collections,including Die Cast,Comics, and Sports Cards and occsionally some misc. items and gifts, including McCoy, or Brush pottery.

My Return Policy: I try to describe every item I offer to the best of my ability and include any flaws, either factory or just normal use, in every description.

I don't appreciate receiving something that was underdescribed and I won't sell anything without an accurate description, However, if for any reason, you are not happy with something you receive from me, just return it in the original package after e-mailing me within three days of receipt, and your bid price will be returned as soon as the item is received by me.

Feedback: I consider feedback to be a very important part of the ebay experience. As a seller, I post feedback upon receipt of payment. I appreciate receiving feedback and when I purchase something, if the seller has left feedback for me, I do the same.

Need Help with your auctions?

I have included a few helpful links to some of the members sites that can help you with your questions and get your auctions going. There are many interesting tutorials and you may find some information that will be useful in creating a fancy auction, or just adding pictures to your auction page. There are also a few instructions using HTML that you can use to cut and paste in your description to create a background, link to your other auctions, add sound or to add multiple images to your page. I hope you find these tips useful and I personally wish to thank the people on the HTML/IMAGEShelp board for their input, without whose help I may never have embarked upon this endeavor.

Use a table to make your pages a little more colorful. For a great tutorial on tables

This item was sold out. It is used here as an example of a table only.
The third in a series, 1/64 scale bank, limited to 2500
This is the third in a series of Century Class Die Cast trucks and should be available in March of this year. The Century Class represents the reappraisal, redesign and new development of thousands of components. The input of hundreds of truckers, the cooperation of suppliers and the passions of the most respected truck designers and engineers in the World has resulted in this family of trucks. Since it's introduction, This Company has managed to capture an increasing share of the new truck market.

In recognition of the success of the Century Class, The Company has authorized the release of a series of Century Class Die Cast Models. Don't miss this opportunity if you can help it. This is a very nice collectible and will make a great addition to any Die Cast truck or automobile collection.

Shipping and Insurance are to be paid by the high bidder. I accept Checks and Money orders only. Payment must be recieved within ten days of the close of the auction. Checks will require a ten day processing time, but a Money Order will ship upon receipt. Thank you for your bid.

1. Right click on the webpage you want to use
2. Click on View the source
3. Highlight and copy (control c) the code between the <body> and the </body> tags.
4. Paste (control v) the code into the description box. Make certain that your image urls are complete including the http://
5. To trigger the camera icon, use this in the picture url box, but don't use the http:// twice as ebay already provides one in the form
http://pics.ebay.com/aw/pics/dot_clear.gif
6. If you want to use a background, you must upload the background to your server and use the <style> tag for a background with the url to that file in the tag twice as described below.

Adding Multiple Images To Your Description Box
Please ensure that your photos are no larger than 50K and that they are no wider than about 200 pixels if you want them displayed side by side.

<img src=http://your_URL_here/image filename.jpg>
<img src=http://your_URL_here/image filename.jpg>
<img src=http://your_URL_here/image filename.jpg>
Will give you: (boxes not actual size)

(Adding the width attribute of 200 pixels will allow three pictures side by side each at 200 pixels wide with height adjusted accordingly. Using the hspace attribute puts a space between each image.)
<img src=http://your url/image filename here.jpg width=200 hspace=10>
<img src=http://your url/image filename here.jpg width=200 hspace=10>
<img src=http://your url/image filename here.jpg width=200 hspace=10>
Example of an image's url with the width attribute If using AOL:
<img src=http://members.aol.com/Your username/filename.jpg width=200>

Using the E-Mail Tag
<A HREF=mailto:Your email address here>To E-mail Me</a>

Will give you

To E-Mail Me

Using the "Image source" Tag to post a picture.
>
<img src=http://Your url here/Image name.jpg>
(for an animated image, or.gif, just substitute the .gif extension for the.jpg)

In the below example, replace the clickable words with any words you would like the reader to click on

<a href=http://Url of your website here/link target=_blank>Visit my website/link</a>

will give you

Visit my web site

Making an internal Link in your documents
<A HREF="#WORD TO LINK TO HERE">clickable text here</A> then put this where you want to link to. <A NAME="Word you used above here"></A>
(you dont need to use the quotes, but if you do, they must be in pairs as used above.)

There two good ways to use a thumbnail, but here is an easy way if using only one image of no more than 35 to 50K in size. If using two or more, I would recommend making a thumbnail of the image in a photo editor and uploading that to your server.

To Use a Thumbnail to link to a larger image:
You will need to indicate the size of the thumbnail in the width and height attributes in pixels
Usually approx. 10% to 20% of the larger image should be sufficient.(Remember, the file size of your original image and the thumbnail will be the same. This only compresses the displayed size of the image. It will not change your files physical size.

<a href=http://URL OF LARGER IMAGE HERE>
<img src=http://Same url of larger image here width=n height=n border=0></a>

Click thumbnail to view a larger image

Will give you:

Click thumbnail to view a larger image

To Place a background on your auction page, use the html in the table below. Just copy and paste the html into the description box at the start of your description.
You must first upload a background color or image to your server. It must be either .gif or .jpg. Remember that the background color will swallow the default text if it is too dark. If you want to use colored text in a deeper color, use a table and use the background color in a table changing the font to a color that will show
For a great table tutorial, Eobcards Tables Tutorial
To select colors for your background, try the Color Picker

PLEASE DO NOT POST THE BACKGROUND ON THIS BOARD

<style> <!--Body {background: url(http://URL of your background here)}--> </style>

<BODY background=http://URL of your background here>

To use a color in this chart, just right click on the color, then select "save picture as" (in I.E. or "save image as" in Netscape), and upload it to your computer.(To make your own color squares, open windows paint and resize the work area using the corner handles to create an approx. 90x90 pixel area and then "fill" the area with your color. Save your work to your computer using "save as" under "file"). You must then upload that image file to your server. You can then use the url in the code above for a background color, or just use the color in a table tag.
PLEASE DO NOT LINK TO MY FILE! Doing so can cause your auction page or file to be blacked out.

To put music on your page
<EMBED src=http://YOUR URL HERE/YOUR FILE HERE.mid hidden=true AutoStart=true Loop=true>

Creating a link to view your other auctions.
<a href=http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewListedItems&userid=userid> View My Other Auctions </a>

To change the font in your description
Add the face attribute after the <body> tag and just before the text
To be sure that others can read your selected font, you can add more than one font to the line. Make sure to use the quotes around a font with spaces in the designation, as with the "comic sans ms" font.
For example <font face="Arial, Verdana, Helvetica">
<font face="comic sans ms"> This text is in the comic sans style</font>
<font face="arial"> This text is in the arial text</font>
<font face="courier">This text is in the courier text</font>
ETC........
This will give you:
This text is in the comic sans ms style
This text is in the ariel text
This text is in the courier text
ETC........
To change the font size for the entire text from size 1 thru 7, add the following tag after the <body> tag.
(for example, changeing to font size 5)<font size=5>This is font size 5</font> .
This will give you:
This is font size 5
You can also add the tag to a selected portion of the text if you want to change just a line or a sentence.

AOL Users
If your image doesn't display
First check your URL
Commom mistakes in the url include using www.aol.com instead of the members.aol.com, and using a colon(:) instead of the backslash (/) after the aol.com.
It should be like this
http://members.aol.com/members screenname here/your file name here.jpg
(or use the .gif in place of .jpg if that is what you uploaded, just make sure that you use .jpg or .gif to display images in most browsers)

Another common problem could be this:
Often the Url you are using is correct, but the file didn't load properly in the directory. If the image doesn't appear, (square with red box or pattern in it) chances are that you have a bad upload. Just highlight the file, click on utilities, delete the file then reload the file. This should correct the problem. You may have to do this more than once and is a common problem with AOL uploads.

To upload files to AOL using Keyword MY FTP SPACE
1. Enter the keyword My Ftp Space in the key word box
2. On the menu that appears, select See my FTP Place.
3. You will now be viewing your AOL Directory
4. Choose Upload
5. The remote filename menu will appear.
6. Enter a filename for the file you are using.
Make sure it is either a .jpg or .gif file for images, or it can be a .mid or .midi for sounds
(Make sure the binary box is checked for programs and graphics)
7. Click on Continue.
8. You will see the Select file and send menu
9. Click on select and then in the menu, select the drive or location, (example: My Documents), and file you want to use
10. Click on the file you want to use, then click open
11. File name will appear in the file window.
(Make certain it has the .jpg or .gif extension for images or .mid or .midi for sounds)
12. Now select send
13. File will load to your directory after which you will get the message "file done"
14. Check the directory and look for the new file
15. The Url to that file will now be http://members.aol.com/your username/filename.jpg
16. REMEMBER: URL's are case sensitive. You must enter the filename in your form the same way you uploaded it.
Try to use all lowercase letters in the URL, including filename and the extension
Your images must remain on the server for the duration of your auction or your pictures won't show

*Microsoft Internet Explorer Users* ...You must open the menu from the "tools" on the menu bar, then click on "Internet Options", and then follow these instructions from step 3. down.
(FOR AOL)TO CLEAR YOUR BROWSER'S CACHE AND SET COMPRESSION

2. Open "My AOL", Then click on "Preferences."

4. Click on"WWW". This will take you to the temporary internet file menu.

5. Click on "Delete Files". The Delete Files screen will come up.

6.Click on "ok"
7. You have cleared your Cache.

If your pictures look fuzzy try resetting your compression quality.

1. Go back to the "WWW" on the menu and click on it.

2. Click on the "Web Graphics" selection on top of the menu.

3.On the Compressed graphics screen that appears, make sure "Use Compressed Graphics" is UNchecked.

4. Go back to the "Icon" menu and click on Graphics Icon.

5. Click on "Graphics Icon" and on the screen that appears, reset your compression ratio to 1.
