World of Style Vintage is about to open a store in Jersey City, New Jersey! Located at 172 Newark Avenue, between Erie Street and Jersey Avenue, we're convenient to the Grove Street PATH station, the Turnpike Extension, and the Holland Tunnel. For you drivers out there, we have a shopper's parking lot behind the building. We'll be opening our doors in March, 2006.
Who we are: We're two sisters from the New York Metro area who've loved mid-20th-century style ever since we were little girls playing with our mother's Fifties bridesmaid gowns and longing for a real pair of go-go boots like our teachers wore.
Over the years we've found that vintage clothing is simply more interesting and better made than most new things on the racks. We've also developed a knack for finding interesting items, and now we're in the business of selling vintage apparel to like-minded women who want to evoke the glamour of the Jet Age.
Most of our items are from the Fifties through Seventies and we get things in all sizes. Our emphasis is on clothing that one can wear every day; accents or entire outfits that won't look out of place in the office but still give the wearer the satisfaction of showing off something unique and interesting. Aside from day dresses and suits, we carry blouses, slacks, eveningwear, lingerie, shoes, hats, purses and other accessories, as well as some gift items such as trashy Sixties spy novels.
