OUR STORY stevescollectibles.com began when a friend asked me to try and sell a couple of toys for him. Thanks
David! He knew I had just started 'playing' and 'surfing' on the new Information Highway...Remember that OLD name we never hear anymore? So, I tried it and the rest is history. I had such fun searching for buyers that I started spending too much time out of my family and home life on the side or
'along with' my engineering career.
There was only one thing to do; The engineering career had to go! I had to keep my family happy, right?
When I could show a 'living' amongst my playing, I could do it full time. Engineering wasn't fun like selling 'cool stuff' on the web. Gotta reduce stress. true? Anybody knows that!
So I played for just under a year and a half (30 or 40 hours a week!) Then in August 1997, I gave my notice at
work. Whatcha gonna do?..they said; I said sell way cool stuff on the Internet! What looks I got! But I don't care 'cause I like making people happy by helping them find a piece of their childhood!
In 2002, I decided to grab some more structure and went back to my Civil Engineering career with Health Insurance skyrocketing etc. and I do need that 401K. But, I'm still having a ball in my spare time searching out that great children's book you had as a child or the vase you just loved. We've added tremendously to our website selection and gotten affiliated with some great companies with super items in many areas. Still fun and a Nostalgic experience for me...

Our 17 pound Bichon Frise Natie is always a pleasure to be around and helped me decide to create a pretty good focus on Dog Collectibles and Gifts for our website as I love Pooches very much. Not to mention the hundreds of 'friends' who write e-mail to remind me to find the Superman ring they had when they were 8 years old in 1957!
