About the item I have negative feedback on - It was a Sega Saturn game device that allowed you to play games from another game territory, such as Japanese games on an American system.
After being sold, I realized I had included pictures of the wrong device I wanted to sell in the description! (I had two of the devices, and included pictures of one that I wanted to keep, not the one that I wanted to sell!)
I explained this to the buyer (who selected the "Buy it Now" feature before I could correct the auction) - but he wanted the exact item he saw in the picture, not something else. (Giving a person a different item that what was pictured it against the rules as well.)
I got on some websites to try to look for another device that I could get to replace the one the buyer demanded I provide for him, even after explaining the mistake. He had already paid via PayPal, and kept asking for the device.
I could not find anymore in stock anywhere. I had a dilemma. Either be stuck without a device that took me a long time to aquire, or have an unhappy buyer. I knew I would be more unhappy later on if I had sold my only device that I felt I needed for my Saturn, so I refunded the guy's money, but said I would keep my eye out for another device for him.
A few days later, I found an online retailer that sold such devices. They cost more than what I first sold mine for, so I knew I couldn't ask the guy to pay their price for one. So I figured I could buy one of these new ones for myself, and then provide my other one back to the guy who first wanted to buy it. After getting it in the mail, it worked fine! So I got on eBay to check for the guy's e-mail address again to contact him - I saw that Negative Feedback had already been left on my account. :(
Also - I was contacted by eBay and told the auction was not allowed with eBay, and eBay would of taken it down, if it hadn't already been purchased right after I put it up with the "Buy it Now" feature. Such items that allow you to play games not designed for a system (via region block or any other method) are not allowed to be sold on eBay.
So however you look at it - being a mess up on my part, or just something not allowed by eBay to be sold - it still got me Negative Feedback when I had no ill intentions.
