Andrea Kowch was born in Detroit, Michigan, where she earned her BFA at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Throughout the past few years, Andrea has won numerous top regional, national, and international honors for her art, placing her on the stages of Washington D.C.’s John F. Kennedy Center and New York City’s Carnegie Hall. As a result, she has had work exhibited in places such as Washington D.C.’s Capitol Hill and Corcoran Gallery of Art, New York City’s Diane von Furstenberg Gallery, and Miami’s Margulies Collection, to name a few. As an alumnus of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, Andrea ranks among America’s top 2% of young American talent, and is a member of the Gold Key Society of the Alliance for Artists and Writers. Her work has been featured in CMYK Magazine and Spectrum’s Best of the Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art Annual 15 and 16.

She developed her technique through study of various past and present art, most notably the work of American Masters, as well as the Old Masters of the Renaissance. Her paintings and illustrations are best known for their rich symbolism, mood, and control of medium, leading her art to be described as “work that demonstrates a highly sensitive consciousness that informs a culturally laced symbolism.”

In between projects, Andrea finds joy in taking part in the internationally recognized “Painting A Day” movement. The opportunity to work with collectors directly has been a “wonderful and satisfying experience,” and many of her small works now hang in numerous private collections across the United States and Canada.
