I collect dolls, especially brides and have over 100 at present and bidding on more, HELP I think I am addicted! I also collect angels and porcelain Victorians, and tassels, but the brides are taking over!
Many are from my childhood and several are from EBay. Through these transactions I have made tons of new friends, some with whom I correspond regularly. Thanks to these great people, I have earned a feedback score of 100% with a pretty star! I feel blessed to be so well thought of by those from whom I buy.
I never want to leave bad feedback, I always strive to leave positives, I think there are enough negatives in this world. I think sometimes people should work things out between themselves and if possible, spare the hard feelings and public humiliation that bad feed back can cause.
Of course, not everyone pays promptly as I always strive to do, nor does every seller deliver things as promised though the sellers I have had the pleasure to work with certainly do, so I guess those negatives do serve a purpose to warn others if absolutely warranted when all other avenues for settling problems have been exhausted.
I truly appreciate it when the seller has the shipping cost listed or has a calculator on the auction. Since I always pay immediately when humanly possible, that makes my job as a buyer so much easier. I also truly appreciate sellers who leave immediate good feedback when I have paid immediately. Those are the sellers I go back to without hesitation.
I find it distasteful when a seller holds feedback until they find out what you have to say about the product when it arrives. If I pay immediately and am polite and prompt, my job is done. (I know some sellers disagree and that's OK). If I were to find that a product is not as described or is completely different than the seller claims and I was left bad feedback just because I left it for the seller, I would be furious!
Fortunately, that never has happened to me. If I had a problem, I would try to work it out with the seller before taking any other measures.
I do so wish that Ebay would put a special catagory for Bride Dolls under dolls and bears, that would make it so easy for us bride collectors to find our precious collectibles. I hope they do. If you are a bride collector like me, I would love to hear from you.
I just recently found Tonner and Gene fashion dolls thanks to the help of a pen friend. I love them and am now looking for them since I am over run with brides. I wish I'd learned about these beautiful fifteen inch beauties a long time ago, but I have some now and recommend them to anyone looking for something different to collect in the doll world.
I especially love Tonner's Tyler, Sydney and Gene Marshall by Ashton Drake. They are so much fun to "play" with, dress, make clothing for and to buy clothing for. There are a LOT of talented people here and the prices for these OOAK luxuries are very reasonable in most cases. I search for them almost every day! I still love my brides and Victorians, but these fashion beauties have just captured my heart.
Recently I came upon a fantastic seller of beautiful fragrances. The store is SOMETHING SPECIAL and believe me, it is special. Almost any fragrance you can think of is available in oils and dry oils. You can even mix them to make your own signature fragrance. This is something to definitely check out!
