| I have finished and gotten a
copy of my first book, The Rats of Summer.
I thinks it turned out great and am listing signed ones on eBay. They
are also available directly from Blurb,
go there to see a preview of the first 15 pages. For anyone interested I have a blog. It can be viewed here. I try to add to it at least once a week, sometimes more. From there you can visit me on Facebook, Zazzle, Twitter and Blurb. I also have a CafePress shop and a Zazzle shop. Below are some items available at Zazzle, at lot of my earlier works. I will be adding items on a regular basis, but if you have any requests let me know. My 'I Miss You' sad rat note card has been selected as one of Today's Best on Zazzle!! Today is Aug 30. I'm so excited. is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization that provides assistance for wild birds. A quote from their site, "Being in New York City, most of our patients are pigeons that are ill, been injured by other wildlife or vehicles, or lost their homes due to ongoing construction." Click here to see all the wonderful work they do for owls, pigeons, chickens and more. ![]() ![]() Drawings/Paintings I've done featuring Rats, Mice and some Cats. Welcome to my me page. My drawings are mostly 2.5 x 3.5 inches big (or should that be small?) and are called ACEOs. I am a member of the ACEO group here on eBay. ACEO means Art Cards, Editions and Originals, and the only requirement is that they must be 2.5"x3.5", standard baseball card size. Search ACEO to see a wide variety of subjects and styles from many talented artists. I would like to thank all of my wonderful customers for being so darn wonderful! My name is Kathy Clemente and I graduated from DuCret School of the Arts in NJ, way back when. In 1976 I won second place in a poster contest for the bicentennial. I still have the savings bond. ![]() This watercolor painting of Kiss was done by me in 1980 and shown by the NJ Miniature Art Society. It is slightly larger than an ACEO. The red background looks a bit mottled but that's just glare from the clear film covering it. I
have been selling on eBay for over four years now and have met many
wonderful people and seen lots of fabulous art. Monthly Events: Every month certain groups have themed listings. On the 1st of every month is ACEO Theme Week, all listings are ACEO sized (2.5"x3.5") and start at $4.99 (search for ACEO TW) and on the 20th of every month is NFAC, which stands for Nibblefest Art Contest (search for NFAC), all listings, which can be any size, start at 99¢. Group for Charity: I belong to "Artists United for Animal Rescue" (search 'AUAR'), a select group of professional artists and photographers who are dedicated to animal welfare. Members donate a percentage of their sales to animal charities. The group is run by the wonderfully talented Lee Mitchelson, eBay ID: artfulgifter. Computer Art: In addition to drawing and painting, occasionally I like to play on the computer at something other than eBay. haha. My favorite programs are FreeHand and Photoshop, which I've been using for almost 20 years. Below are logos I've done for various groups on eBay.
Just for fun I
designed a logo for the
ACEO group. It is not their official logo, as they already have one,
but sometimes I just like to give my design skills a workout. Reference Photos: Reference photos, when I use them, are from my own pictures or copyright free sites. Since I have been drawing rats and mice for so long now a lot of them are just drawn from my head so I can make them pose however I want. But to keep my subjects as real as possible it is nice to have some reference to see about fur growth, how animals move, close ups of paws, that I can incorporate into my art and keep even my silliest ideas as accurate as possible. Recently I came across a wonderful photographer named Paul Lantz (www.paullantz.com) from Canada who has given me permission to use his photos. I will give him credit in my auctions whenever I use one of his gorgeous photos for reference. I am in awe of the fabulous shots he gets of the ravens. Another fabulous photographer is Kristy R, who's rats I discovered on Flickr (KristyR929 or visit her website www.eagleswingsphotography.com). She has given me permission to use her rat photos, so you will be seeing her name in my auctions where I use her adorable little rat models. She has a flair for capturing them in all manner of mischief. For more cute rats you can adopt visit Rhinelander Rat Rescue at www.geocities.com/rhinelander_rat_rescue/ They are a small, no kill, not for profit rescue located in northern WI. As with all non profits any help you can give them will be greatly appreciated. I will be using some of these pictures in my art also. |

Past auctions:

Some of my feedback, thanks to my wonderful customers.
