Margaret Briggs (author & archaeologist) and Mark Ramirez (chef & photographer): yep, we are the Local Gringos wherever we go!
We met in northern Belize where I worked as an archaeologist for 10 years, and where Mark's parents own a restaurant (Patty's Bistro) and a hotel (The Mark Anthony) in Corozal Town.
In July, 2005, we moved to the East Mountains of New Mexico, near Albuquerque. Quite a change from Caribbean sea level to high & dry at 7,000 feet ... for us and for our 3 dogs & 4 cats! But we love it here, and enjoy the novelty of having four different seasons.
We operate our eBay business as a team: Mark is the Product Photographer & Shipping Department, while I am in charge of Research, Listing and Correspondence.
We sell vintage paper of all sorts: antique postcards and photographs, vintage cooking and craft books, as well as collector's back issues of magazines. We handle our own collections, attend estate sales, and, as listing agents, sell collections for others.
We also import products from our beloved Belize, such as Belikin beer coasters (Belikin is the National Beer of Belize, ya know?).
We collect postcards and photographs of archaeological, anthropological and historical interest, from New Mexico, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Africa (Tuareg). Got anything like that? Drop us a line!
