Since I'm into minis, I figured a pic of my mini garage sale might be good at the top of this page! I made it back in the 70's when I first collected minis for a contest (I lost! LOL!)
First of all, I'm totally addicted to I love it here - I have fun and get to talk to a lot of great people on the Q&A board and people who win my stuff. That's what I've always liked about computers and the Internet - people...
I've been online since 1990 - and, in those years I've met online and in person lots of great people. I've heard lots of horror stories about people who meet online, but from my own experiences, the only real difference between the people online and the people in real life is that sometimes in real life they're shy! LOL!
I even met my husband online! Back in 1990, people thought we were nuts to be using computers, let alone meeting someone from there! But, (ack, I can't resist! LOL!) It was....love at first byte (ta dum!) Seriously, I found out what he was like, how he thought, if he was intelligent - all without meetin him in real life. By the time we met, we were in love... We met in 1990 and got married two years later to the day. In fact, we got married in the place we went on our second date - a cave! LOL! (Doesn't everyone meet on the computer and then get married in a cave??? Maybe I'll get pics up someday of the wedding...
The cave, btw, was Howe Caverns in upstate New York. They have a heart shaped stone carved out of crystal clear pink quartz. There's a legend that if you kiss on that heart, you'll get married... We did on our second date and knew that we'd get married and that we'd get married there. So, we did two years later! (And, of course, our families thought that was a bit strange too, but what else is new?)
About my E-bay addiction - it was an accident! I swear! LOL! I came to E-bay to find a vintage watch because I knew someone who sold them here... I looked around and saw lots of the things I've collected over the years on sale. So, I figured that I'd take some of my miniatures out of the closet where they'd been languishing for over twenty years and see what happened. The first auction was so much fun that I was hooked!!
Since then, I've been wandering around NY looking for minis just about everywhere and finding them too! And, buying up complete vintage collections from people ranging from the 20's to the 70's... It'll take me forever to auction all this stuff, but that's okay - I like it!
Oh, and garage saleing....all sorts of strange stuff from garage sales that I haven't even started auctioning yet. Does everyone here have a "Stuff I'm gonna sell on E-bay room"?? LOL!
Anyway, I'm tired of typing and you're probably bored to tears so I'll stop for now. Write me if you like!

My husband started After Hours in 1986 on a TI-99/4a and it's still going strong! We put it up on the web several years ago and it's now one of the most active boards on the net, with over 3,000 members |
