On May 17, 2008, we lost the owner to a motorcycle accident. John Matherson, who for over 25 years was a leader in a very tough and competitive, performance driven industry. We will keep this place alive. He would have wanted it that way. Just out of high school, he was accepted into the prestigious Air Force Academy, The summer before he was to report to Colorado Springs as a freshman cadet, fate intervened and John rode a motorcycle for the very first time, From that moment on, there was no looking back as John discovered a whole new world, developing a powerful niche in the motorsport and performance fields.
Whether it was back in his early days at JRB Racing, building custom performance products for racers Jeff Ward and Brad Dutoit, or now, as the owner of Mission Yamaha, Yamaha Motor Corporation's first "Pilot Store," John's priority is always performance and his love of racing has kept him on the forefront of performance standards.
And now...joining forces with John to head the Speed-Tech Performance Division is Ted Boyko, the hottest motor builder around! Ted has built motors for moto-cross stars Bob "Hurricane" Hannah, Broc Glover, Mike Bell, Gary Denton and many more. Ted is well known and liked throughout the motorsport industry and has been a major player in watercraft performance products. A few of the watercraft racers he's built for include Tom Bonnacci, Chris MacClugage, Tera Laho, Frank Romero and Brent Flambures. In fact, Brent Flamhures is the newest addition to the Speed-Tech Performance Division, Brent ranked fourth in the Pro Runabout 1200 at the 1996 World Championship and now contributes considerable expertise to the Speed-Tech Division.
