College grad recently cut off by parents (i.e. the Bank). Suddenly forced to sell personal effects in order to cover my expenses. Thus far, I'm not very happy living life as an adult. The academical village offered me constant intellectual and social stimulation. My transition to corporate culture, in which the devolution of Homo Sapiens is all too apparent, was not easy. In fact, I found it quite impossible. As an undergraduate, I double-majored in English Language and Literature and Art History, two subjects that overwhelmed me with opportunities to formulate, and further hone, my own sublime conceptions of Beauty and Goodness. I viewed my graduation as a baptism that declared me fully equipped to begin my pursuit of these two ideals that seemed so within reach. Two years later, however, after two internships, one full-time job and graduate coursework, I feel far from achieving my dreams, but I am still hopeful.

Moving beyond discussion of my personal life, I'd like to use this space to recommend some of the literature that has most moved me: 'A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man,' by James Joyce; 'The Sun Also Rises' & 'A Farewell To Arms,' both by Ernest Hemingway; 'Tropic of Cancer,' by Henry Miller; 'To the Lighthouse,' by Virginia Woolf; 'Heart of Darkness,' by Joseph Conrad; 'Antony and Cleopatra,' by William Shakespeare. I will post updates to this list as they register in my memory.
