 MOST COMMON QUESTIONS WE RECEIVE REGARDING EBAY

• Answer:  Yes.  The buyer pays sales tax and registration fees based on where the car will be registered not where you buy.

2.  Question:  Can the auction be ended at anytime?

• Answer:  Yes.  Because all of our cars on ebay are cars here at our showroom available to the local public at anytime the car can sell.  We reserve the right to end the auction at anytime before reserve has been met.

3.  Question:  What does "Reserve" mean?

• Answer:  The Reserve we set is the minimum we will take for the car being sold.  Our reserves are set below average retail and below our already discounted internet prices we set on our own websites and 3rd party sites.  
  
  The opening bid which can be set as low as $100 is only the opening bid and is not what we will sell the car for.

4.  Question: How long does it take to ship a car?

• Answer:  Most shipping carriers give you a 7 to 15 day window of pickup and delivery depending on location.

5.  Question:  If the reserve is not met, do you sell the car to the highest bidder?

• Answer:  No.  Unless the reserve is met we do not have to sell the car to the highest bidder.

6.  Question:  Are you a franchised dealer?

• Answer:  Yes, Momentum Motorcars is a authorized Jaguar, Volvo, Porsche and Land Rover dealer. Momentum is owned by the Sonic Automotive Group, and member of the Russell 2000 Index, is among the largest automotive retailers in the United States. Sonic Automotive operates 173 dealership franchises, representing 37 different brands of cars and light trucks at 150 locations in 15 states.  The Momentum Motorcars name has been serving the Houston area for over 15 years. 

7.  Question:  What is the process once you buy a car on ebay regarding funds and paperwork?

• Answer:  We require a non-refundable $2500 down payment via a credit card to take the car off the market and consider it sold for up to 5 days.

Depending on how you are paying for the car, the process is one of two ways;

Paying Cash:  On top of the selling price, we have a $50.00 documentary fee, $497 dealer services fee and a Texas state vehicle inventory tax.  We overnight paperwork to you (buyers order, odometer statement and such), you sign and return in a pre-paid FEDEX envelope.  Due to the high amount of fraud we receive over the internet,  Momentum prefers wire transfers, however we do accept bank certified and or cashier checks, 

Once funds are in place and paperwork returned we can release the car for shipping and or pickup.

Depending on how funds are received you will receive the title within 5 to 15 days at which time you will take the title and buyers order to your local DMV to pay sales tax and registration fees.

During which time Momentum Motorcars will provide you with a Texas temporary plate so that you may drive your car legally until you receive the title.

Financing and or Lien Holder:  If you finance with Momentum or go through your own bank/credit union and their is a lien Holder, on top of the selling price we have the standard $50.00 documentary fee, $497 dealer service fee, Texas state vehicle inventory tax, we also collect your city/states/county sales tax and registration fees, just like you were buying a car at your local dealership.

Required documentation is proof of insurance on the actual car you are buying and valid drivers license.

Once the finance process has been completed and papers are signed and returned and down payment if any and or bank funds are received and verified the car then can be shipped and or picked up.

Your new plates and registration arrive to your home and the length of time varies from state to state and your DMV.  Some states require vin and or emission  inspections and some states only accept inspections that are done in the state of registration, when this is the case you will be responsible for having this done and sending back the forms for Momentum to complete the registration process.  

8.  Question:  Do you accept out of state trade ins?

• Answer:  Yes, however depending on where the trade is located some customers do not want to spend the money to both ship their trade then ship the car they are buying due to expense.  Some customers living not to far from Houston, opt to drive in.

In regards to trade value, we will bid your trade as best we can sight unseen and have an estimate value, however the car must arrive as represented in order for final bid value.
