I'm so pleased you stopped by! My name is Katherine, and as my user ID already tells you, I love old dolls. This has been the case since childhood. Chatty Cathy was a constant companion in the late 60's, along with a huge old hand me down composition Mama doll and an Aunt Jemima toaster cover. An odd combination, but we were quite content. I have a degree in fine art, concentrating on preservation and restoration. Naturally, I have an affinity for the well loved fixxer uppers and I find renewing these pieces of history a very rewarding hobby. I truly love dolls, and all that they represent.

I have been a maker and designer of primitive dolls and accessories for 20 years. Many of my designs are based upon antique cloth dolls that I've owned or admired. I love the simple ones, and am inspired by the ingenuity of early doll makers, using what they had on hand in the scrap bag. I use vintage fabrics & trims when I can, and add old bits and pieces that I've collected over the years, to make each doll unique. Although most of my dolls are one of a kind, I can sometimes do custom orders as well, if you have a specific need.
