Thank you for visiting my About Me page and for browsing my eBay store!
Let me introduce myself... I am Karen, known on
eBay as pins-n-needles. I have been selling fabric and patterns
on eBay since April 2000. You can visit my store by clicking
the link below. There you will find an eclectic mix
of new, retro and vintage fabric, patterns, trims, notions and
other items which I have for sale. Many items are bargain
priced and store items are available for immediate purchase!
My
store has a wide range of fabrics and several different ways to
purchase fabric.
Some
fabric is sold by the yard, just like at your local fabric store.
Others are sold by the piece.
I
stock a wide selection of new and vintage fabrics, ranging in age and style from the
1940's to the present day. There are fabrics which are ideal for
retro fashion sewing, while others are perfect for quilting. Still
other fabrics are great for craft sewing or home décor.
The
store also has a large selection of sewing patterns as well as books
related to sewing and crafting; laces and assorted trims, and other items. I try to list auctions several times each week, so it's always a good idea to stop by once a week or so and see what new goodies I've listed recently.

I thought it might help fabric buyers to know a little about how I take the photographs of my fabrics for sale. Below in the same layout as they normally appear in every fabric item are descriptions of how I take the photos. Sometimes I will have additional shots above the description - if you have questions about any of my fabric photos, please email. |
This photo attempts to capture the width of the fabric. I normally have the camera about 3 feet from the fabric when I shoot this photo. The fabric is oriented vertically - (top to bottom is lengthwise grain). |
|
This photo is actually a scan - I have laid the fabric directly on my scanner and taken a full scanner shot (a little bigger than an 8½" x 11" sheet of paper). I reduce the fulls size scan to 400 pixels wide. The fabric is oriented vertically - (top to bottom is lengthwise grain). |

This photo is another scan of the fabric placed directly on my scanner bed. It is full size - there is no reduction so that you can see the grain of the fabric. Also oriented vertically. |
|
This photo is a scan of the fabric placed directly on my scanner. I have included a 6" ruler in this scan in order to give you some idea of the scale of the print. Oriented vertically (top to bottom is lengthwise grain). |
|
This photo attempts to give you a shot of the length of the fabric. I normally have the camera about 5 to 6 feet from the fabric when I shoot this photo. The fabric is oriented vertically - (top to bottom is lengthwise grain). |
|
Usually any photo placed here is of the info printed on the selvage edge of the fabric. (oriented horizontally - lengthwise grain is left to right). |
Looking for the Fiber Burn Chart or Fabric Care Page?
Need to know what that fabric is made from? The Fiber Burn Test page can tell you how to test for fiber content... Click the link below for that and more information related to sewing and fabric.

Up
until a few years ago, I was a custom clothier/seamstress. I also worked for 14 years
in the dry cleaning industry.
In 1999, I finally realized one of my life-long dreams
when I received an AS degree in Apparel Design & Related Services from Seattle Central Community College. Earning
my diploma was a personal triumph, but I soon realized
that I was more comfortable working from home and yet
I knew I wanted to put my education to good use - and eBay
has allowed me to do just that.
Stop by and visit with me and my textile loving friends at the
Needle Arts & Vintage Textiles Discussion Board (there's a link
near the bottom of this page) - I pop in several times a day...and
there are other regular posters who are always glad to help answer your
questions about fabric, patterns, other textiles and sewing. I think we really are the nicest bunch of board regulars on eBay!
Please
don't hesitate to use the eBay "ask seller a question" feature to email me if you have any questions about any
of the items I have available for auction or for purchase in
my store.
I am now using eBay's Message System when I am unable to contact customers via e-mail. If you have not received email from me, or if you have elected to 'hide my e-mail address' by clicking the box on the 'contact/question' message form page, then I will respond to you using eBay's Message System. You will need to log into eBay and go to your My eBay page and click on the MY MESSAGES link (left side column) to find my response to your question.
BeBe and Ming are my 'Store Mascots'! They are fawn pugs and pretty much think the world revolves around them. I started putting a picture of my
pugs at the bottom of every auction shortly after I began selling
on eBay and now it's pretty much tradition. You know you've found a Pins-n-Needles item when you see BeBe or Ming!
The BeBe Blog is BACK! Yes! You know you need a little pug silliness in your day and it's all just a click away...
