 My name is Rebecca and I'm back from a long break from ebay. After many years of selling I needed to devote some time to family & home.
After dragging things home for ten years to sell at flea markets and on ebay I became overwhelmed by the accumulation. Selling at flea markets is hard on a body and I had pretty much given up on that ~ so it was time for it all to go. I had a couple of very large garage sales. I had neighbors come and see if they could use any of it and then I called the local mission to haul off all the 'treasure'. I filled up their big old box truck top to bottom!
It's such a relief to have a home and not a warehouse with beds.
During that time I used some of the money from my garage sales to buy a greenhouse. I've wanted one for years but didn't have much use for a hobby greenhouse. I wanted something I could count on to take a harsh winter if one should come along. Last February I had things going along pretty well.
I also took time to learn a few skills like home canning. It's a lot of work, but having some home canned green beans and jelly in the winter makes it worth all the effort. Sadly my tomato crop was wiped out by the late blight. I'll be more prepared for that battle next year for sure!
I also took time to explore my creative abilities. Taking trash and turning it into treasure has always been something I love to do. It's one of the reasons I can't get over my addiction to yard sales too. I haven't always had time to do all the projects I intended to get to so it was a much welcomed break.
Since then I have discovered so many items buried in storage, closets and drawers and I've decided it's time for them to find a new home too and since I am hoping to build a new home next spring ~ I'm back!
I haven't made it to the garage attic yet but when I do ~ I hope I can convince my son to let go of some of his old toys. Of course he will get the money from those items because he is way-to-much like his mom and loves to get into things! :-)
