We are the online component of Maple Street Memories, a brick & mortar scrapbook store (with craft sidelines) run by SIX sisters and a very patient mom.
Where do we get our Ideas for what to sell?
From you. Requests for interesting items are always welcome. We also try new items out and if they sell, we'll buy more in that area to list.
You'll find fabric paints and dyes, craft books, therapeutic gloves, adhesives, repair & cleaning items, interfacing, and nifty notions that are often hard to find. Where else can you find a Norwegian yarn guide, a liquid frisket kit, a sweater stone or blocking wires?
Where do we get our stuff?
Gotta Notion has a wonderful notions & craft distributor who has online ordering, small minimums and quick delivery, so we order weekly, usually very early on Saturday morning. New stock usually arrives on Thursday or Friday.
Why do we use stock photos?
Our distributor's pictures are better. And most of our items are brand new. If we can't find a good picture or it doesn't adequately describe the item, we'll take one ourselves.
All items are stored in a climate controlled, smoke free, pet free environment.
We're pretty obsessive about getting packages shipped quickly. Anything paid by noon central time goes in the 2 p.m. mail drop, then another drop is made after the scrapbook store closes at 5. Saturdays we usually mail around noon. Sundays we're closed and take the day off.
Why are your listing pages simple?
Ebay's not about fancy graphics. It's about the stuff. We prefer to present the facts about the products in black and white, on a page that loads as fast as it can. So we keep it simple.
How long does it take to get stuff?
Depending on how far away you are--it could be there the next day--or it could take several weeks. We ship small items via First class mail (or 1st class International) which can take up to several weeks, depending on shipping and customs vagaries. Priority is faster, and anything that fits and is appropriate to sent in a flat rate envelope (10+ ounces, international) will be shipped via priority mail flat rate envelope for $12.95. We're happy to combine shipping to exact shipping charges, if you request an invoice!
Why are your shipping rates low?
We try to charge only actual shipping charges, either on the item or when you request a combined invoice--as close as possible. Please request an invoice for combined shipping. If you buy several without requesting a combined shipping invoice, and pay more than $3 extra, we try to refund the shipping overage. If we don't--we got distracted by shiny things, so feel free to remind us!
Also, please note that we send most things out in padded envelopes rather than boxes, since they're lighter--liquids are taped shut, put in a plastic zip bag, and padded if necessary.
