I am a Wiccan Illustrator and work in my studio at home with my husband and 3 children. I am a solitary practitioner and have used my artistic gift from the Goddess to capture the mystery and magick which surrounds the Craft as illustrated Book of Shadows spell pages. I am a self taught artist and work primarily in Acrylic paint.

I began my art career in 2003 illustrating Book of Shadows spell pages on Ebay. Much to my surprise, the interest in my illustrations and accompanying spell pages took off fairly quickly. This was very encouraging to me and I felt great pride and happiness knowing my art continues to be considered worthy enough to placed in a Witch’s personal Book of Shadows! In 2005, my modest website was launched and my fan database kicked off. Hundreds of Witches from all over the world have signed up on my website to be kept up-to-date of my latest releases, purchase my illustrations and spread the word. This would never have happened without my wonderfully artistic and computer wise husband who developed both my website and created an additional E-commerce webstore to sell to both private individuals and offer wholesale orders for store owners. He continues to be a great source of inspiration to me and helps me keep my sanity!

My most favorite subject to paint are Witches! It is an exciting process to see my vision slowly coming to life on canvas with their own unique personality I hope causes the viewer to experience a strong feeling. I find great inspiration in Norman Rockwell’s ability to illustrate normal everyday people in snapshots of their ordinary lives which cause the viewer to identify and draw them in. As my talent continues to evolve, I yearn to capture the same style and depict Witches in similar themes which celebrate their personalities, ordinary lives, and the Craft. I have so many ideas floating around my head and a notebook filled with sketches. The real challenge continues to find time to paint! Raising a family, running a webstore business, studying the Craft and exploring/experiencing that wonderful mystical world (which is very important to me) takes a big chunk of my time. I LOVE days when I can spend a solid 8 hours painting without interruptions. Unfortunately, they are difficult to schedule *sigh*

As any artist starting out, I am still in the grass roots phase of exposure and getting my pen name of Steelgoddess out there in the Pagan and Wiccan community. Any chance to advertise my Wiccan art is a blessing. I am very grateful to those who have spread the word about my illustrations to friends, covens, and have picked up my work to sell in their stores. I am very proud to announce that I was chosen to illustrate an article for “newWitch” magazine titled “”Bringing Harmony Home with Feng Shui.” by Leslie Budewitz. I am truly honored and can’t wait to see what the Goddess has in store for me in my spiritual and artistic journey.
