people say i'm special


People often tell me I'm special with a big heart. That is after they hear what I do for a living. You see I work in a county school as a teacher's aide, with special needs children ages 3 to 5. We teach them to walk, talk, sign language, potty train, personal hygenie, to eat by them selfs, and any thing else we can think of. We take these children on field trips and I do mean all kinds of trips from swimming to the pumpkin patch to pick out there own pumpkin. I love all these children with all my heart and when they get sick which is often I feel sick with them and there family. I love my job, if you want to call it that, and would not want to do anything else. My daughter who is 12 wants to be a special education teacher and I encourage her everyday to do just that. We don't have enough teacher's and aide to assist these children in the world. So the next time you see a special needs child just remember this, all they want is a hug and to be loved just like normal children so don't be afraid of the unknown. If at all possible talk to them as you would any other child, they love the attention and the parents like it when you see there child as just that, a child.
