2008 was an exciting racing season! Lots of changes kept racing competition close & fans even closer! More IndyCar Series races than we have ever seen before in a year & more competition due to the long awaited unification of American open wheel racing. 2009 is shaping up to be as thrilling as ever as it was originally scheduled to be the biggest ever & is already getting smaller due to the cancellation of the Detroit Grand Prix at Belle Isle. Will Helio Castroneves be able to race this season or will Penske team-mate Ryan Briscoe win the big one &/or the IndyCar Series Championship? Ganassi Racing looks to defend the title in the 24 Hours of Daytona & the Rolex Grand-Am Series as well as Scott Dixon going for 2 in a row at the INDY 500 & IndyCar Series Championship. Maybe NASCAR Team Stewart Haas Racing driver Ryan Newman can finally win the 2009 Brickyard 400 after the 2008 Daytona 500 win. Let's hope the INDIANAPOLIS MOTO GP goes to local favorite Nicky Hayden this time with his new Dacati Team. American LeMans Series welcomes Rahal-Letterman in a 2 car BMW entry this racing season. Also, keep an eye out for the all new USAC Gold Crown cars coming to a race track near you... Too much drama on & off the tracks yet to unfold this year! We may yet see those parimutuel wagering windows with the concession stands before you know it... Until then, see you at the races!!!
