What is RAM and why do I need it?
Adding random access memory (RAM) to your system is the cheapest and most effective way to make it run faster.
You can think of RAM as an incredibly fast hard drive that stores information temporarily instead of permanently. When you start a program it is loaded from the hard drive into RAM. When a program is running in RAM it can run hundreds to thousands of times faster than it can if run directly from the hard drive. The problem is that the capacity of a standard hard drive is many times the size of a computer's RAM size, meaning it is possible to load so many programs that the RAM can no longer hold them. When that happens, your computer's virtual memory kicks in, and that's bad.
Virtual memory is simply your hard drive trying to act like a RAM chip. Since the hard drive is so much slower than real memory, programs stutter and sometimes crash when the hard drive has to do a job it was never designed for. There are only two solutions to this problem: close some programs until virtual memory is no longer needed, or add more physical memory. If you can afford it (and current memory prices are low enough that practically anyone should be able to), the latter solution is always preferable.
With the addition of more RAM, you'll be able to keep more programs open at once, speed up program launches, and experience fewer system crashes. Plus, it's a pretty easy upgrade to make, requiring little technical expertise.

Why should I buy memory specifically for my computer? Why not generic memory?
While it's in your best interest to shop around, don't skimp on quality. Get grade-A memory only. It's amazing how many program crashes can be attributed to cheap RAM.
There are minute timing differences as well as small incompatibilities between systems. This is why all our memory is tested in specific systems to ensure compatibility. We also carry major name brand memory because all memory is not created equal.
Some of the well known brands we carry are : Micron, Samsung, Hynix, Infineon and Nanya.

Can I install memory myself?
Yes, it's actually very easy to install computer memory. If you're not sure where the memory gets installed, the best place to look would be in your owner's manual. We also have online installation guides, free technical support and would be happy to walk you through an installation.
How much memory do I need? How much memory should I have?
The amount of memory you need depends upon how you use your computer. RAM is used every time you open an application, download, play a game or simply turn on your computer. Additionally if you work with or plan to work with digital audio and video more ram is a necessity.
It's safe to say you will see a performance improvement in at least one way or another by having at least 256MB, if your computer supports that much. For running today's computer software and operating systems, it's entirely reasonable to equip your computer with up to 512MB of memory. Few home computers make effective use of more than 512MB of memory, but many people go with more anyway for the satisfaction of "maxing out" the computer or the desire to utilize all the memory slots.
Basic User / Student
If you are surfing the internet, sending and receiving email, and doing word processing along with other applications, you can get by with 128MB, but would benefit from going to 256MB.
Advanced User / Feel the need for Speed!
If you are running multiple applications, want to play the newer video games and/or work with graphics, you can get by with 256MB, but your computer speed would benefit greatly by having 512MB.
Advanced Professional
If you work with high-end graphics, CAD software, digital images, or video, you can get by with 256MB, but would benefit greatly by installing 512MB of memory or more. Right now our 512MB memory modules are available at incredibly low prices.
Graphics Design Professional
If you are, or plan to be, a professional graphics designer, use CAD or modeling software, digital images or video, you can get by with 512MB, but would benefit from going to 1GB of memory or more.

Will I void my system warranty by installing your memory?
Absolutely not!
Using third party products does not void the warranty on the system. To do so would be in violation of a Federal law, the Magnuson-Moss Act, which was enacted by Congress in 1975. This Act recognizes that the consumer has a right of free choice in using whatever products they wish to upgrade other products, and makes it illegal to place sales restrictions limiting upgrades to a specific brand to satisfy warranty terms. This law applies to all products, not just computers. You may upgrade your computer with any product you desire. The system manufacturer will still honor the warranty on their products, and we will cover the warranty on the products you purchase from us.
What does “Guaranteed To Work” really mean”?
Guaranteed To Work means the memory we have listed under your model matches the memory specifications supplied to us by the computer manufacturer. We have a lifetime warranty and 30 day money back guarantee on all RAM!

What is a kit?
A Kit is comprised of two or more pieces of memory. For example.. One 64MB Kit has two 32MB memory modules. One 128MB Kit has two 64MB memory modules. One 256MB Kit has two 128MB memory modules. One 512MB Kit has two 256MB modules. One 1GB Kit has two 512MB modules. If this auction is for a kit, the word "kit" appears in the auction title.
