Steve, Lori and Cody

Hi, my name is Steve Jans and I live in Billings, MT with my wife Lori and our golden retriever, Cody.  For my day job, I am a field engineer servicing medical imaging equipment in eastern Montana and northern Wyoming. My hobbies include: woodworking, computers, R/C airplanes and restoring a 1978 Datsun 280Z.

I started selling on eBay to clean out some items from hobbies that I no longer did, like ammo reloading and fly tying. After running out of things to sell, I decided to make a business out of my woodworking hobby, which I had been doing for over 35 years.  I had always liked nice pens and after making a couple for myself decided to make them to sell to others.  I've sold them at a local craft show, and also from my website, www.TheModernQuill.com.

Each of these fine writing instruments is a unique piece of art.  I make ballpoint, rollerball and fountain pens, as well as mechanical pencils, from materials such as exotic and domestic woods, naturally shed deer and elk antler, acrylic and polyester resins. 

I don't use a duplicator when making the pens.  Each one is handcrafted in my shop here in Montana.  So, it is truly unique.  Each pen and pencil has a finish that will last for many years.

If, within 30 days from date of purchase, you are not completely satisfied with your purchase you may contact me for a return authorization.  After I receive the pen back, in its original condition, I will refund the purchase price, less shipping charges.

I also guarantee that if the pen or pencil ceases to function properly within the first year, you may return it to me for repair or replacement, at my discretion.
