Gary S. Yamamoto dba Magic Lure Enterprises My boat in the water. Magic Lure Enterprises was started in 1973. A hobby turned into a business. I am still a active deep sea troller and own my own boat. A 25 foot Yellowfin (Local built boat), flying bridge and diesel engine. I live and fish on the Island of Oahu. We are recreational fishermen who catch fish to eat and not sell. We share our good fortunes with our families and friends. I still make and sell resin lures to stores on Oahu, Maui and the Island of Hawaii. A whole generation of fishermen have grown up using my lures. These lures and skirt colors are what I am using on my boat at this time. I use either the 7 inch lures or the 9 inch lures. This depends on the time of year, bait in the water or the size of the fish. I carry on the boat, 2 or 3 lures of each color and size. I got tired of repairing skirts and leaders on the ocean. I have many different lures and colors but this is working best for me now. Thank you and Good luck!!! Keep a tight line----------------------------------------<*//>< Gary S.Yamamoto dba Magic Lure Enterprises Mustad 7691S verses Straight Shank Hooks I prefer the Mustad 7691S or Equivalent Stainless Steel Hook over the Straight Shank Stainless Steel Hook. As you can see in the picture, the Straight Shank on the left needs a lot more pressure to get good penetration because of the Angle on the tip. The 7691S on the right requires less pressure because of the Angle on the tip for good penetration. I know of fishermen who swear by their Straight Shank Hooks and catch fish. Everybody has their own preference of which style of hook they prefer and this is mine.
