7th on Sale will return soon!!
7th on Sale 2007 is a one-of-a-kind fashion fundraising experience featuring thousands of items for women, men, kids, and the home from the world top designers. The extensive array of merchandise includes cashmere sweaters, shoes, handbags, books and fragrance bottles signed by designers, celebrity-worn red carpet gowns, and much more.
7th on Sale was created in the Fall of 1990 by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), in partnership with VOGUE magazine. The unprecedented, four-day benefit shopping event featured designer-donated merchandise, which was sold at below wholesale prices -- and raised an astonishing $4.2 million. In 1991, the CFDA-Vogue Initiative was established, to respond to the rapidly emerging needs of community-based agencies serving persons with HIV/AIDS in New York City and to support national AIDS advocacy efforts. Proceeds from 7th on Sale were distributed as grants to more than 40 charities through the New York City AIDS Fund. In 1992, 7th on Sale/San Francisco brought the same energy, enthusiasm and style to the ity by the Bayand raised $2.6 million. In 1995, 7th on Sale returned to New York. More than 17,000 tickets were sold to the public and the weekend shopping event grossed over $5 million. To date, 7th on Sale events have raised more than $11 million dollars, and touched the lives of many thousands.
In the future our initiative will once again reach a global audience -- with 7th on Sale Online. Fashion biggest names -- the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), Dolce & Gabbana, eBay, Kenneth Cole Productions, Polo Ralph Lauren and Vogue -- have joined forces as major underwriters, and hope to make fashion and fundraising history once again.
We are currently planning the next event, which may occur as early as 2009. Please sign up for our mailing list to be updated with news.
