Everything but Stromboli?

 

Why would anyone name their eBay store that? 

 

Well I make my own Stromboli and quite honestly it is the best in the world.  I know that sounds immodest, but as Dizzy Dean said “it ain’t braggin’ if it’s true.”  Anyway my family and friends have been saying for years “you should quit your job and sell Stromboli.”  I have heard it countless times.  Well here I am selling things, but no Stromboli!

 

How did it all start?

 

Well it started sort of by accident.  I had bought some rechargeable batteries on eBay and later saw them in a store cheaper than I had bought them.  So I thought why not try selling them myself.  I bought 12 packs and sold them in no time, bought more and sold them.  I started wondering, how am I selling these so fast when there are thousands listed on eBay?  It turns out my own stupidity was the secret to my success.  I had misspelled rechargeable on the listing but apparently so did a lot of people searching for them, so instead of finding thousands of listings they were finding mine!

 

 

Why do I sell things on eBay?

 

After awhile I thought, why am I doing this?  Spending time selling things on eBay when I really don’t need the money?  I have a good job, why bother?  Then I thought, I can use this money to help others.  So I committed to continue selling things and giving much of the money away.  Well that was all it took, and like that business took off.  Personally I believe the Lord said “Now that is something I can use.”

 

What happened next?

 

My life changed dramatically overnight.  Sales exploded and we had the awesome experience of being able to give away a fair amount of money.  It is an awesome situation to be in.  We now support many ministries and local organizations, but our passion is supporting Compassion International.  We are currently supporting twenty four children throughout the world. 

 

We were able to visit the girl we support in Ecuador last September and again our life changed.  It was such a blessing meeting her and seeing how Compassion works and how it changes lives.  We are now working as Compassion volunteer advocates helping them find more sponsors for underprivileged children.  I would encourage you to visit their web site and learn more about this incredible ministry!  I cannot think of a better way to spend $38.00 a month, you will change a live forever!
