Hello and welcome! My name is Bobbie and I have been interested and fascinated by antiques for a good many years now. It is hard for me to sell many of the items that come my way because (to my husband's dismay) I want to keep them all for posterity's sake. :) It has, however, been a great privilege to be the temporary keeper and protector of many a fine antiquity.
I love the Victorian era and identify with the morals of that time period. Thus the name, Displaced Victorian. Often, I feel out of place in 2009 and wish I could go back in time to the turn-of-the-century.
I share my Colonial (wanna-be Victorian) home with my husband, 2 cats and 1 bird. The three children are grown and on their own and my oldest, a daughter, has blessed me with 2 grandbaby girls and one on the way. Many of the items I sell are located at estate sales and auctions. It's sad that a once prized possession becomes a mere commodity. So, naturally, it's my obligation to foster it until I can find it a new and loving adoptive home! LOL!
In my auction description I stated I would give the reasons why, through no fault of my own, I received 3 negative feedbacks in a row. Well, here goes:
1. Buyer took 2 weeks to pay by check and it took 2 weeks for her (large) check to clear. Her negative FB stated 30 days was too long to wait for her item.
2. Buyer used Paypal with a credit card and there was a problem with her payment not showing in my account. I spoke with her several times via phone to work out the problem. I ended up sending her the item without being paid and told her to pay me when she got the credit card straight. She left me a negative and then was very remorseful - but, eBay would not allow her to change it.
3. Buyer wanted a refund because he said one of the salts he bought had a chip. I offered a full refund upon the items beings returned to me. He refused to return them, yet wanted a refund. He left me a negative. Go figure!
