A.J. Vezina
Some General Information About Me
I don't understand the people , who have created an "about me" page and not given me their name, or told me about themselves, so it is my turn and here I go. My name is A.J. Vezina . My home phone number is 407-616-0851 . I live in Celebration, Florida outside Orlando . I have enjoyed collecting tobacco cards and it is my hobby. It has captured me and entertained me . I agree that often times I am too passionate, too involved in what are merely things to other people. I could not avoid the pull these items have on me. I have some expertise with tobacco cards, I am an advanced collector. I have several years actual experience in the card business . Being in this business, I have been fortunate to have made friends with some of the top collectors and best dealers in this hobby. I was blessed, and it was my pleasure to associate with you guys, I remember all of you. Further I welcome the opportunity to meet those collectors emerging on E-Bay. It is a wonderful place to collect and it is the best thing that happened for the card collecting hobby. E-Bay has made it commonplace to find the rare items being offered at affordable prices, and the possibility to just find those ultra-rare items at all. Jefferson Burdick did not have such an opportunity as this.
And About My Collecting
My best collection is Georges Vezina. I have almost all the tobacco and non-tobacco cards. I am missing one or two. I do not have an autograph, I am still looking for that and I want your help in finding it. I do have a few family photos. I do have the 1929 Vezina Trophy. The best stuff is information inside my head. I know, it is a bad place to keep it. Yes, I am related, and I know more about Georges than any other living person and I only hope I write it down, before I check out . If you can help me with my Vezina collection I would appreciate it. Also, I have a collection of my cousin, Steve Vezina, mostly his game worn jerseys. He has been playing ice hockey and roller hockey for the last ten years and is a fine tender. I look for his jerseys and cards on E-Bay. Also, I have collected other hockey cards, silks, felts, etc. I love the early hockey tradecards and postcards. The C-55 set is still the trademark of an advanced pre-war hockey card collection and it is the most visually appealing. Like I was saying earlier, these rare cards are now commonplace and affordable, thanks to E-Bay. I have strayed into other sports cards, non-sports cards, movie items and just bought things that appealed to me. The beauty of the thing, the rarity of the thing. I just enjoy it. However, my hobby spending habits have slowed, since I moved to Florida in 2002. I'am like semi-retired and slowing down. Nonetheless, I will be collecting as long as I am able. I am always interested in talking to other collectors, anytime, to discuss, explore, or offer me an item. I am just sitting here by my computer waiting to hear from you. Well almost. Sincere Thanks from A.J. Vezina 10/20/05
