academy2 Policies

NO RESERVES
Occasionally a high minimum but never a reserve. I am not playing games here!SHIPPING CHARGES
As a collector I know what it is like to pay outrageous shipping charges. As a seller I try to minimize the cost. If it can go First Class for less, that is how it goes. Priority mail is NOT any faster than first class no matter what lies the post office tells you. Priority can take five days or more, just as first class can take two days. If the item weighs too much for reasonable First Class, then it goes Priority. If it is a film, video, laser disc, or book it goes by Media Mail. I am not going to rip you off (like other sellers) $5. to $8. to send a photograph, a 100' film, a video or CD.
PACKAGING
I package things very well protected. Photos and other thin flat items are sent between pieces of STIFF, oversize corrugated with edges taped together. NO flimsy 'photo mailer'. Priority items are packaged in a Priority BOX when possible. I am not going to send your magazine in a worthless Priority or 'padded' envelope or with chipboard where it can get the spine kinked or get bent or creased. I am not one of these morons who say they will use cardboard and then put it in a file folder!!
DESCRIPTIONS
I try to give as much information as possible, pointing out anything of interest regarding content and condition. I will not hold back information and put the burden of asking questions on the bidder - no guessing game here. I will not show you a scan the size of a postage stamp, nor one that is twice the size of your screen, nor any of those crummy 'ipix' images. And I am not a 'biography/filmography' spammer, one of these clowns that clutter the search engine with words that have nothing to do with the item. If you are interested in someone, you already know about them.
GRADING
I am not going to tell you something is 'good' when it is not good. And I will never use the word 'mint'. It doesn't mean anything anymore. There will be no excellent condition 'for its age' BS. Age has nothing to do with condition. It is either excellent or it is not. And nothing will be 'as is'.QUESTIONS
I will answer your questions. I will send images when possible. So you will know which item we are talking about, I will not delete all references to the item/question in my reply.
I COLLECT
These days I am mostly looking for ALICE FAYE and vintage burlesque/stripper/girly memorabilia. Most of what I sell is a 30 year accumulation of memorabilia, plus some things I list for friends.
