Tranquility - Encaustic
|
Aerten is a Goddess of fate who presided over the battles of several Celtic clans. She is often equated to the Three Fates of Greco-Roman mythology. Her symbol is the double-bladed axe. Caisle is the Gaelic word for castle... hence, Aerten Caisle is Aerten's Castle.
I am a self-taught (Outsider) artist, specializing in abstract works of art. I work with acrylics, watercolor and/or encaustic (wax), and often experiment with mixed-media techniques. I enjoy abstract / nonrepresentational art because it allows you, the viewer, to see whatever speaks to you from the painting. You create your own story about the art, making it a more personal relationship to the artwork.

Small Abstract 13 - Watercolor ACEO
|
I enjoy small format art (SFA), which is any piece of art that measures less than 14" in any direction, though I do have some pieces that are larger than that. My largest piece to date is an encaustic piece that measures 24" x 24". Some of the SFA art I create include:
- Art card editions and originals (ACEO), which measure 2.5" x 3.5"
- Art squared (ART2), which are square format pieces
- Original small works of art (OSWOA), which measure 4" x 6"
I am a member of EBSQ - Self Representing Artists (www.ebsq.com) and Upstate Artists Guild (Albany, NY).
