Welcome to The American Fisherman store. D. O. Norton, master rodbuilder, has been custom building fishing rods for satisfied customers since 1970. Specializing in G Loomis, Sage and dozens of other name brand rod blanks, customers can specially order custom wrappings, guides, handle and reel seat.

Custom Built Fishing Rods
Welcome to The American Fisherman store. D. O. Norton, master rodbuilder, has been building rods for satisfied customers since 1970. With clients all over the world, Norton has built over 2000 custom built rods ranging from 3 wt trout flyrods to 14 wt Tarpon flyrods, and casting, spinning, flipping and pitching rods for bass, panfish, catfish, muskie, walleye and pike, as well as saltwater rods for snook, flounder, redfish and trout.
Name brand components
Each customer may select the make and model blank from G Loomis, Sage, St. Croix, Shakespeare, Benchmark, Sevier, Winston and Cape Fear, as well as components manufactured by Fuji, Pacific Bay, Strubel, Hopkins and Holloway. Threads used are Gudebrod and epoxy and cements are Flexcoat.
