Apprehensive Films is a Production/Distribution company that has been in business since 1997. We specialize in obscure and underground Horror, Grindhouse and Exploitation films. We've started this about me page to set the record straight about some accusations that we sell questionable, illegal or bootleg material. All the films we sell are fully licensed, public domain or we are the exclusive copyright owners. Much of our working hours are spent doing research and tracking these films, directors and producers down, so when someone reports us to Ebay and states that we are selling illegal films it is very discouraging. We put in countless hours of work and research to bring people these unique films and when someone who has done very little or no research claims that we sell bootlegs because we're a small label and our packaging isn't quite as slick as a major studio release it's like a slap in the face.
The films we have exclusive License and/or Copyright on are Colony, Reaper Madness, Nwar, Cessation Resolution Nouvelle, Sublime Depravity, Cemetery Pogo, The Attendant, Bible: The Movie, The Vagina Monologues: The Movie, Ghouligula and all the content on the Heart Full of Napalm DVD.
Films that we distribute that are Public Domain include House By The Cemetery, The Crippled Masters, RatMan, Naked Massacre, DeadTime Stories, Undertaker and His Pals and Centipede Horror. There are other films that we distribute that are not on this list, we will update this list from time to time, but we always do our research on each title before putting them out.
For those who need further assurance please visit http://www.desertislandfilms.com/ Here you can purchase broadcast masters of many of the Public Domain titles I sell including House By The Cemetery. I have personally spoken with Jeff Schillen, owner of Diamond Entertainment, a larger label that carries many of the same titles we do about the Public Domain status of, but not limited to, The Crippled Masters and House By The Cemetery. I have also talked with Don May Jr. owner of Synapse Films, about similar issues. Finally do a copyright search at the Library of Congress if you want. http://www.copyright.gov/
I'd like to put the final nail in the coffin of this discussion by saying that we are in the business of creating and selling films and film related merchandise. We are not in the business of stealing from other people. If we were, we sure wouldn't put our name and contact information on the packaging. We have and will provide documentation including but not limited to contracts and film negatives we have to Ebay to prove our ownership of these films.
