Your grandkids will fight over this bag when you’re dead. There are lots of monster corporations out there that sell literally "boatloads" of computer/robot assembled sweat shop made bags to thousands of sheep every day. We're not one of them. We don't have a big name, a crack marketing team or rent the 6th and 7th floors of a skyscraper just to hold our accounting department. Saddleback Leather Company is a family business owned by me, Dave Munson, and my gorgeous wife, Suzette. I suppose my little girl Sela (rhymes with fella) and newborn son Cross own Saddleback too, My dad Herb is foundational with the Spiritual/Humanitarian vision of Saddleback and has been with me on this almost from the beginning. Over time, I talked my sister, Deborah, into quitting her other job to become Saddleback’s Social Guru to connect with the Saddleback family all over the world. Jana, Suzette’s old roommate, heads up customer service with our family friends Susan, Tierney and my niece Cinnamon. Be nice to them; we love them. I’ve told them not sell anything, cancel an order and refund money if anyone is a jerk to them. I don’t want jerks owning my things. My sister Patricia moved to Texas and is over all shipping. Her 9 yr. old daughter, Grace, has Type I diabetes and therefore it's really nice for her to be able to work whenever there's time, day or night. Suzette’s sister Tina joined the team and works real hard keeping our systems running well. Suzette my wife takes care of my family while keeping me organized and… very happy. I work on being a good husband and dad and I also design and work on production things in Mexico. Suzette and I also have the tough job of getting all those cool pictures all over the world. And, since it was a disaster running a family business on my own, we work with Chuck Bowen who structures it all and keeps the peace rather nicely. . These leather pieces were handcrafted by a "maestro" of leather in southern Mexico, not in some dark and dank sweatshop by a 12 year old little orphan girl with whip marks on her back. Each piece was individually hand cut (not stamped out), carefully placed and personally machine and handsewn (not by a computer operated machine). It has obviously not been assembled in a factory as not one piece is exactly the same showcasing natural scarring and markings with seams that are not all perfectly straight and that's what makes them so perfect.

| The Saddleback Story
I got my first exposure to real tough leather at a Mexican bullfight... and I was the one fighting the bull. I didn't understand much Spanish then, but from what I gathered, they said to just shake the heck out of this cape thing and the bull would go for it. What they didn't tell me was that if anything else were shaking i.e. my left leg, the bull might go for that instead. Well, he wasn't real pretty with one curved and one straight horn and he wasn't real bright either, but he was a fast learner. So the shaking thing worked... the first time.
