My new BLOG
Spring Fever!
I have three little boys that are so thrilled to be out playing all day long these days! Where they get the constant energy sometimes is one of those great mysteries of life I think. Today they dug holes, played with the hose, took turns supervising their latest 'construction' project. I'm not sure what they are building, I'm not sure they know what they are building,... but they are building! Shovels, buckets, pipes, rocks and lots and lots of hauling dirt. When we first bought our house, the back yard was just one very large expanse of weeds. Once we were "in escrow" my husband and I both began making plans in our heads for how we would remedy the patch of weeds. He envisioned a bmx track, a very large workshop and a driving range and putting green. I on the other hand dreamed of a small orchard, garden area, a potting shed and greenhouse, hundreds of lush roses in every color, and a cottage garden to be the envy of all cottage gardens! Six years have past... our very large back yard is still an expanse of weeds for the most part. We do have a small orchard, which we both love. We do have a vegetable garden every year, which we all love. And at last count I have about 250 rose bushes. Just today my dear hubby was telling me how much he likes our yard. I am very happy that he so readily abandoned the idea of the bmx track and workshop. I suspect he's still rolling around the idea of the driving range and putting green, as he was talking about putting in a lawn this year. I casually motioned to the crater my young sons were hard at work digging, and we both decided that perhaps the whole lawn/mini golf course would have to remain on hold until our boys grow out of the digging stage. So my yard will remain for the most part still a large patch of weeds. I will relish my roses and marvel at the imagination and determination of my precious little boys. Happy Spring!
Kindest Regards,
Linda

Welcome to my About Me page
My name is Linda. I've been trading on ebay since 2005.
I've always had a love for beautiful fabrics, and am so blessed that one of my dreams of having a quilt shop is finally coming true!
I'm married to a very wonderful man. We have three beautiful boys! We welcomed our third son in October 2007. He is a beautiful, healthy, happy, chubby bundle of joy! The four of them consume me! Who knew that three little people and one big man could be so much work(!), yet bring so much joy and be so much love!!?? Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that I would be a mother to boys. And my boys are 100% boys! Tools, tractors, dirt and mud are the greatest things there are! Invariably the days that I mop the floors are the days that my two and four year old find the most mud... how in the world they manage to get so much dirt and mud on their little persons in such a short amount of time is truly beyond me. I have no choice but to thank God for the muddy little tracks across my freshly cleaned floors. And on the days that I can't wait to tuck them into bed... so thankful that the day is done, it's those days that little arms squeeze me tight around the neck and a little voice says, ''I love you mommy!'', as his little brother wraps his chubby little arms around me as well, and plants a few very wet kisses upon my cheek... my heart melts with love for them, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am blessed! Nothing in this world could ever compare to heart bursting, overwhelming, ever-present love of a mommy for her children.
Two years ago my husband was given a second chance at life, as his sister donated a kidney to him. The operation was a success, and in a few months we will celebrate his new kidney's second year anniversary, we were all so very thankful! Life is so precious, and when we have our health, it's something that we all so easily take for granted. Kidneys are just one of many living donations we can make to people in desperate need... I would encourage everyone to look into living donations, to see if giving someone else the gift of life and health might be something that you would consider. For us, it has meant that I have a husband and my boys have their daddy for yet another day... and that is a gift beyond what words can express.
Did I mention that I love flowers? ... every kind, but especially roses! A new rose bush is added to our garden several times a year. I'm not sure that I'm very 'good' at gardening, but that certainly doesn't diminish the fact that I'm always working at increasing the number of flowers each year in our yard! In addition to gardening, I also like to cross stitch, crochet and embroider (when I get the chance) and of course to sew!! :) I confess, I'm a fabric-aholic!! I can't get enough of pretty, romantic fabrics, especially ones that are laden with gorgeous roses!!
I also enjoy wood working and interior design and decorating! I think this combination is what inspired me to begin making barbie dollhouses. As those of you who follow my auctions know, I offer a few of my Victorian Barbie doll houses here on ebay each year. Each of my dollhouses are completely hand-crafted and are unique and beautiful heirlooms! I've had several inquiries about them. I'm working on my final dollhouse that I will offer here on ebay. With three extra sets of little hands, projects take longer and longer to complete somehow... I'm hoping to have the house finished and posted here in the Fall.
I'm so happy to have the opportunities that ebay has allowed me. I've met some wonderful people here, and my experience thus far has been so rewarding. I thank you for stopping by today, for taking time out of your busy life to learn a little about me and mine.
May you be blessed. Linda
Here are a few photos of the last Barbie doll house I made.
