Welcome to my Nutty World!

Many years ago, my dear wife Glenda, the infamous She Who Feeds Me, picked up a scrap of wood in the workshop and asked if I thought I could make her a crochet hook out of it. Had I been thinking a bit more clearly at the time, I would have said ..."I don't think so". Being the loving husband that I am, I said I would try. Well, she liked it and the next and the next and the next... I think you get the picture.

I started hiding my scraps, but She Who Feeds Me is an industrious little bugger. Pretty soon she was finding "good" wood that she would like a hook carved from. Then a stray piece of Corian caught her eye. Then the big idea... "You should sell these on eBay!"  Well...here we are. Like the Redhead she is, she did not give up until I gave it a go.

What a joy it has been!

We have a map on the wall with pins for every locale one of our hooks has gone to and an email list of friends that occasionaly masquerade as customers. I do not think we have ever met an unfriendly yarn artist.

All the money we get from eBay sales goes right back into the crafting budget. Now we can have meat for supper on occasion :-) We had to eat beans if yarn was on sale somehwere before. LOL It really was not that bad, but since eBay, it has gotten much worse. She Who Feeds Me is a crafting nut. Crocheting, knitting, glueing, hammering, sewing  and then...the dreaded question, "Baby, do you think you could make me a (insert just about anything here)" The ideas this woman can come up with are scarry. But then she holds whatever it is and the joy in her eyes makes it all worth while. Most of the time...

Special Orders

If you can describe it, I can or will try my best to make it for you. I have put pictures of pets on hooks, done theme hooks for special occasions, made broomstick lace pins the size of ball bats, knitting needles of all kinds, made knitting boards, hook holders and the list goes on and on. Special needs are the challenges that I love most.

We both have "real jobs" and craft to relax and now to support our growing bad habits. Glenda loves to collect yarn and assorted stuff like that. I am an exotic wood nut and keep finding that one tool I have yet to try. Glenda's motto is " She who dies with the most yarn wins!!!" We are not professional suppliers of anything, but just common folks that love a friendly chat with good people of like mind.

(added 9-24-5) A special note of thanks to all of you who emailed kind thoughts and well wishes through my down time. The ruptured tendon repair is healing well and I am beginning to be able to turn a bit more. I did not realize how much turning helped to keep my mind clear and bloodpreasure down. Glenda is comming up with new ideas and soon her crafting coffers will be in the black again. She does so much for me, turning hooks and stuff to enable her to do the things she loves is a blessing for me. AJ
